They are going to have to do something to add to the interest in the overabundance of bowl games, so many teams that are 6-6 or 7-5, and so many opt outs.

They should require that both teams must play a full quarter with their shoelaces tied together.
One quarter should be females only, wearing helmets and Wicked Weasel bikinis.
One quarter they should flood the field so that it holds six inches of water.
Players on the losing team, whether they opt out or not, have to pay back all of their NIL money and reimburse the cost of their scholarships and other aid.
One series each quarter, the players have to line up and play with their backs to the line of scrimmage meaning they run backwards on that series.
I remember when there were very few bowl games, New years day was the day for the big four, Cotton, Sugar, Orange, and7nn Rose bowls. The gator bowl, sun bowl, tangerine bowl, etc, were consolation bowls.

It's time for the NCAA to do something about this before college football loses viewers. You either expand the playoffs to 64 teams (like TXHSFB) that way the players won't know which game is the last game and every game means a chance to play for a title, or you have the NCAA govern this NIL things where there are penalties for "opting out" of games. Are there any other options to stop this BS that's legit ruining college football? I mean players are option out of NY6 games ffs. Unless it means they have a shot at a title, they don't care.

You think the bowls are dumb but you think having a playoff with 50+ teams that have no business having a shot at the title is the answer? Those games would be truly meaningless.

Unless some great parity comes to college football, 6 teams at the most realistically have a claim to the title. Most years 4 teams is too many.

Bowl games have always been meaningless.

Just consolation games played for funsies.

AKA they're played just to get your money

Every win in the playoffs that trophy gets bigger and bigger in their eyes. Every win means your odds of a title grows. The minute that odd hits zero (every bowl game outside of playoffs in current model) the players stop caring which makes the fans stop caring and the results are screwed up and don't matter because it's a totally differnt team in the bowl due to opt outs. There is a reason people love march madness. It's extremely popular in basketball and D2 college football but for some reason people think it's impossible for it to work for D1. We've had claimed titles, co-champions and a GD computer telling us who wins. Enough already! Just make it 64 teams. Early rounds get the .com and taxslayer bowls. Later rounds get the big games, moves around title location in the NY6 games. Upsets will happen. Drama will happen. It will FIX college football. We don't need people like YOU or the "experts" telling us who "deserves" to have a shot at the title. That is settled on the field as it should be. Enter the gauntlet and last man standing wins. Enough is enough. EVENTUALLY they will get it right and will expand to 64 (like everyone else) but damn I don't look forward to the talking head debate which team "deserves" what based on "common opponents" and "sexy wins". I'll be stepping away now to eat this beef jerky. Rant over.

It's Woe. They are suggesting there is nothing wow or unique about you, other than thinking wow=woe which is seen as a negative in Colas eyes.

Bowl games are a business decision. Only when it stops making business sense will they businesses stop funding them.
