Texas A&M adds former Fresno State TE Tre Watson via transfer portal
Since offensive coordinator Collin Klein’s arrival, he has had his eye on adding an experienced tight end to the roster.
Klein and Mike Elko have done just that as 6-foot-5, 245-pound Tre Watson announced his plans to transfer from Fresno State to Texas A&M.
After entering the portal, Watson previously committed to Washington on Christmas Eve.
As a junior in 2023, Watson recorded 38 receptions for 378 yards and four touchdowns on his way to honorable mention All-Mountain West honors.
Over the course of his three-year Fresno State career, he played in 33 games and recorded 56 receptions for 592 yards and four scores.
Originally from Rio Rancho (NM) Cleveland High School, Watson chose the Bulldogs over the likes of Liberty, New Mexico, New Mexico State, Texas State, Army and Air Force as a three-star prospect in the class of 2021.
He now rejoins friend and former Fresno State teammate Jaylen Henderson at A&M, and he picked the Aggies over offers from Houston and Washington.
Watson becomes the Aggies’ 20th addition from the transfer portal in this cycle.
