These Double Dave's advertisements and "giveaways" are bull***** I've followed many of these "competitions" and they hardly, if ever, announce a winner.

Trash.

Their pizza sucks, too. The cheapest possible ingredients. I wouldn't feed it to my dog.

I quit DD long time ago. Their pizza id half cooked, like eating goo!

There was a place called Partners (circa 1997) that was similar to Potato Shack. Loved ordering takeout from them.

Anybody know if they just changed their name to Potato Shack or if it was different owners?
This is the answer I was looking for, those BBQ spuds were awesome!

Looks like it was the "Country Inn." Can't find an exact address, just that it was Hwy 36 in Somerville.

Sodalak's "country inn" in Snook was a different place, though I liked that too.

THIS is the one I'm thinking of - Country Inn. Awesome (and relatively inexpensive) steaks, a line to get in, & cash only.

I remember that the steak took up a whole plate so you got a second plate for the fries

The Country Inn in Somerville was my wife and I's favorite place. Great steaks and the wife loved the Chicken Fried Steak. Looked for it many years ago (late 2000s) but it was gone then. Supposedly there was The Country Inn 2 in Brenham, but I never chased that one down.

Duncan had good food back in the 60s and all you can eat. But I had a meal at Duncan a couple of years ago and it was the worst food ever. So I will say Duncan of the 1960s.
