It should be noted that these are adjusted for strength of opponent, which I believe can be wonky, especially in early season games where there is a lack of sample size for a defense. I gotta believe that Weigman's 33.4 despite a truly awful performance is only that high mostly just based on Notre Dame reputation from the previous season, for example.

Similarly against McNeese, Weigman in raw data probably had a high 80s to even 90s performance, but it was only againt McNeese, so its adjusted down, while Reed was Ok, but since it was McNeese its equivalent to being terrible.

It has to be dependent on the score differential. I can find statements out there that say QBR penalizes garbage time, so Reed coming in when up 35 is going to make it so that he has a bad QBR no matter what he does.

There's no point comparing a proprietary stat between players when one didn't play a full game.

Well neither one played a full game, and my point wasnt really to compare the two based on that game. That is a good point about game situation potentially being a factor also.

QBR is ESPN's proprietary rating starts at 0 and maxes at 100. The system averages across all NFL QBs at exactly 50.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Total_quarterback_rating

"Passer rating in the NFL is on a scale from 0 to 158.3. Passing efficiency in college football is on a scale from 731.6 to 1261.6.."

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Passer_rating

Hope that helps…know it won't!!!
