We want Bama to beat LSU, and Ole Miss to beat UGA.

Our best win is LSU so we benefit more from LSU winning. Same with Notre Dame we need them to crush the patsies on their schedule. We would also benefit from South Carolina going on a run and ending the season ranked.

This

Plus, I think a Georgia win over e miss is good for us because it gives ole miss a 3rd loss thus taking them out of the playoff picture

The less 10-2 sec teams at seasons end the better just in the chance that we win out but lose the sec title game

LSU and UGA winning this weekend takes bama and ole miss out of the at large scene

We need LSU to win so Alabama can be eliminated from playoff consideration since they would have 3 losses. Also, it would make our win over LSU look even better in the eyes of the playoff committee. Would also like to see Georgia lose to Ole Miss on Saturday, then beat Tennessee in their next game to reduce the number of SEC teams with only one loss.

I believe our playoff hopes are now to the point that we have to win the SEC. I don't think the loser of SEC championship game gets in.

Based on that theory, I want Ole Miss and LSU to win this weekend and Texas to lose every game. Why LSU and Ole Miss, I believe we would beat LSU again and Georgia scares the heck out of me.

If my theory were wrong and a 10-3 SEC team could get in, then we root for Georgia to bury Ole Miss, LSU to bury Bama, Texas and SC to win out other than against us. In that case,
Georgia 12-1 surely UGA gets nod over LSU w SOS
Ags 10-3
Texas 10-2
LSU 10-2
Tennessee 10-2.

I think Ags have to get in over Texas and LSU with wins over both. SEC will get at least 3 teams in. You would likely be 3-2 vs top 15 teams. Who else in country has played 5 top 15 teams?

I think 13-15 look like this in rankings
13. Bama
14. Ole Miss
15. SC

Speaking of Florida, what do yall think of their ADs statement about Napier continuing as the head coach of the Gators. Of course he doesn't say for how long.

Not sure why ADs do this. Does releasing a statement like this during the season ever turn out well?

I believe the CFP committee said something to the tune of "losing a CCG will not hurt a team's resume" and that a CCG loser will still be considered 2nd place in the conference, regardless of record (even if that's us at 10-3). Therefore, I believe the loser of that game would still make the playoffs.

The story is still the same, though. Win out and you are in. I agree that LSU, UGA, and USC winning will be good for our resume. Especially USC.

I would rather not have a rematch vs LSU in the SECCG. Would prefer playing against Tennessee or even Georgia over LSU. But maybe I'm in the minority there.

Our strength of schedule is meaningless and we have to win no matter what...thus we shouldn't be looking at games to help our strength of schedule. Better to have Bama beat LSU where they both have 2 SEC losses. Need to start shrinking the pool of 1 loss teams.

Root for Ole Miss to beat Georgia and then Georgia to beat Tennessee. Lets get everyone to loss number 2 sooner than later.

No way. tu losing to anyone puts them 1 step closer to watching the playoffs from home. Always a benefit!!

Would prefer our win at the end of year officially ending their playoffs dreams if they drop a game in coming weeks against FL or ARK

Why do some want Ole Miss to beat UGA? Does that benefit us?

Personally dislike LK so, if UGA beats them, aren't they eliminated? Think elim helps as they can sneak up and get into championship and CFP if they win out (bet if they did, it removes us).

Agree on anyone vs tu, LSU vs Bama, ND to win out (yuck there) and USCe to generally win out (esp beat Clem for sure), but don't think they will.

It's absolutely not meaningless when we could be competing with two one loss B10 with zero T25 wins for an at large berth. It's the only thing in our favor.

Cleaner path for us to the SECCG if UGA picks up a second loss

My kid goes to GT and graduating this Dec. I'm going up to watch them play The U this weekend. Always love the contrast of the fanbases.

So go Tech - Rambling Wreck!

But if I had a son, sir, I'll tell you what he'd do

He would yell, 'To hell with Georgia!' like his daddy used to do.

If Georgia, LSU, and Texas A&M all win out, LSU and Texas A&M would play a rematch in the SEC Championship Game.

1. LSU (7 - 1): Above Georgia and Texas A&M based on conference opponent win percentage (0.4844).

2. Texas A&M (7 - 1): With Georgia, below LSU based on conference opponent win percentage (0.4531).
Above Georgia based on conference opponent win percentage (0.4531).

3. Georgia (7 - 1): With Texas A&M, below LSU based on conference opponent win percentage (0.4063).
Below Texas A&M based on conference opponent win percentage (0.4063).

4. Texas (6 - 2): Above Tennessee based on record vs common conference opponents all played one time (6-1).

5. Tennessee (6 - 2): Below Texas based on record vs common conference opponents all played one time (5-2).

The line on Florida/tu game is something like 21.5 points. I'm watching Miami/GA Tech at 11. Miami has the look of a team that can lose any weekend.

I am rooting for LSU to beat Alabama to hand them their 3rd loss and effectively them from playoff contention. Also, if both LSU and us win out, we would play LSU again in the SEC Championship Game. Beating Texas at Kyle Field and LSU twice to become an 11-2 SEC Champion would be sweet.

I am rooting for Georgia to beat Ole Miss to hand them their 3rd loss and effectively eliminate them from playoff contention. The fewer SEC teams finish 10-2, the better for us if we win out before losing the SEC Championship Game.

I think on a deeper level, it is beneficial to have chaos in the Big 12 and ACC, and I guess the Big Ten as well, so I will cheer for upsets and higher-ranked teams in those conferences to lose.

Why do you want all these teams with 1-loss to have 2-losses? That only helps the Sips make it to Atlanta if they do beat us. Otherwise, Sips are behind LSU & Georgia in the tiebreakers (maybe Tenn too). A&M and LSU are both ahead of Georgia & Tennessee too in tiebreakers.

A one loss sip team gets in if they lose the CG, making them a two loss team. That should be obvious.

If A&M wins their last 3 they're in. The SEC is getting 4 schools so worst case scenario LSU wins the conference at 11-2, Georgia is in at 11-1, Tennessee is in at 10-2, and A&M is in over Texas.

I kind of doubt Tennessee gets in over Texas, unless Georgia loses to Tennessee or Ole Miss - so that Georgia gets in with 2-losses and Tennessee gets in with 1.
Tennessee's loss to Arkansas is a killer, then again Ole Miss losing to Kentucky at home is bad too.

definitely need LSU to beat Alabama -- that is priority #1

then UGA vs. Ole Miss -- would like a 10 to 14-point win -- don't have a preference either way

Shocking to me that LSU has a stronger SOS

LSU has played or will play. TAMU (7-1)
UGA has played or will play Texas (6-2), Tennessee (6-2)

i'd like to hear the rationalization for why Bama beating LSU is better for us.

oddly enough, if LSU & ole miss win this weekend, we can lose to Auburn and still go to SECCG
