Ours is three years of misery capped by a 20-10 win against t.u. in '75. Good memories of Bubba Bean, Carl Roaches, George Woodard, Skip Walker, Ed Simonini, Garth TenNapel, Lester Hayes, Pat Thompson and of course, coach Emory Bellard. The Aggies were 10-2 and the Tri-Champions of the SWC that year and it was fun to see them have such a great season.

The long time rivalry is back and we look forward to yelling for our Aggies at Kyle Field on 11/30.

No, it wasn't. Gardere didn't get to tu until '89.

Not sure of the year, 1979, '80, '81...we were playing the sips in Austin. My buddy that was with me had spent time as a trainer for the football team. He introduced me to a couple that were sitting behind us who happened to be Matt McCall's parents, who was one of our offensive linemen. During a play, a penalty flag flew, and behind me I heard "Oh, Matt!" I turned and asked what happened...his mother said "Matt held"- call on the field...holding, offense. Talk about being honed in on her son playing.

That was 1985, and would be my favorite. Just beating LB Gamble raising his arms toward Heaven after recovering the game-ending fumble in 1999.

My favorite has to be my senior year in Memorial Stadium where A&M had never ever beaten the sips. But that day was different. We did have several memorable players and coach that helped.

Not sure of the date, I think is was early '70s, as the t.u. band was entering the field, the Red Pots released a bunch of armadillos loose on the field. They had caught these while cutting for the Bonfire. I worked with a tsip who was in that band and he remembered it well.

1979. Sitting in temporary bleachers on south end of Kyle Field (under construction of third decks that season). Not great seats, but had perfect view when Curtis Dickey broke through for touchdown. Aggie's 13-7 victory sent teasips from Sugar Bowl prestige to Sun Bowl disappointment.. Tee shirts the next week printed up saying "from gumbo to tacos".

'97, at the game with my sip Dad and sawing Varsity's horns afterward.
'99, at the game with my good friend who had just lost his Corps buddy when stack fell.

I came here to post this exact thing. I was at the '84 game in Austin and that one was pretty sweet too.

I can't remember the year but there was one in Austin when we were on probation so the game wasn't televised (I think) and I went to the stadium but couldn't afford the scalper prices so I watched the game on closed circuit TV in the Irwin center.

The funny part is that I think the scalper prices were like $100 dollars and I was thinking how on earth could anyone afford that!

Yes '84 was great too. I was in Austin for the Corps march-in but didn't go to the game either. I remember watching big Larry Kelm (I think it was him) lumbering for a TD after the blocked kick! That was when our crew, stuffed in a hotel room erupted into wild screaming.

During a game versus Rice a voice rang clear with an Indian accent "Gig'Em Owls". Everyone had a laugh but appreciated his enthusiasm.

1979, my last game as a student. We were unranked, tu ranked 6th. All defense in the second half to preserve a 13-6 win. Going down the ramps after the game was a giant party, singing the War Hymn, and everyone stopping to saw varsity horns off!

This. Brett was an avid bass fisherman and had a carpet cleaning company in Temple. He was kinda like a hometown hero there. My boat company sponsored him with a bass boat deal so I got to know him well. He admitted to me that that night at Kyle Field was like a nightmare to him.
Lost track of him in a few years after that.
