"At Texas A&M, too, where Nick McKenna serves as assistant athletics director of sports fields. He recalled the time the Yell Leaders at Texas A&M had a former leader's ashes spread at Kyle Field without permission, upsetting their longtime facility manager.

"So he had the head field manager go out, vacuum them up, put them in a jar, and he took them to the Yell Leader and said, "Y'all left someone out there on the field the other day. Just wanted to return him to you," McKenna said."

Unfortunately, saying anything bad about current A&M employee Nick McKenna will get me a 30 day ban so I'll just say that he seems like a real stand up guy for returning the dead person's ashes to the yell leaders. He really seems compassionate to their loss and is a shining example of what makes A&M so special. His great act of service definitely kept anything bad from happening at Kyle Field that day.

Forget spreading my ashes. If my friends don't find a way to secretly bury me under Kyle Field, I'm gonna be ticked.

Just figure out which way the winds blowing on game day and go up in the nosebleed with large ziplock upwind, open up and shake and let everyone get some, like the Big Lobowsky.

Spread my father's ashes on Kyle after midnight yell practice in 1986. Ags beat TCU 74-10 the next day. RC Slocum got a kick out of the story.

Maybe you need to read it again- it was NOT our current manager that did that. He's narrating the story.

BTW, i presume he was talking about the crazy Billy Pickard, (Mentions "long time" manager). Pickard wqs the manager from Bear Bryant to Mike Sherman!

Billy Pickard told me one time that cremated ashes isn't some fine dust that you can just water into the soil. It's chunks of bones that would ruin a mower. That's why they don't like ashed on Kyle Field.

Vacuumed them up?! I'm sure he got them all in grass field. I really doubt that good bull story.

Think about all those people who got their ashes spread on Kyle Field before they rebuilt the stadium.

The first thing they did on the rebuild was haul out dirt to lower the field by eight feet. All those ashes are now in a pasture somewhere out west of town.
