I'll just wait til later to switch from Busch Light to gin. I might have to delay my evening gummy as well. I'll make it one way or another; just thankful my 3-year-old will sleep til 9:30AM.

It is if they want a big TV audience. Local time it is fine, but they are not going to get much of a national audience. Seems like 6:30 pm Vegas time would have been a little better (could not start too early since it is a weekday).

We could be playing for a natty and some would complain about the KO time.

9:30 pm central, 10:30 eastern, and that's assuming the 6:30 game doesn't run late. I don't see any other games starting so late.

I'm gonna assume your class of 80 making you 67.

Take a nap after work. It's not that late. My old man is 66 & he's not complaining.

Screw you. My 7-year-old doesn't even sleep until 9:30AM. My 3-year-old is wide-eyed and bushy-tailed at 6:00AM each day.

Vegas wants folks in the casinos before game time.

After the game they are too worn out to gamble.

The Las Vegas Bowl is a great showcase for NFL talent. The game serves as a display for young men that dream of playing in the NFL.

The time of the game is immaterial. If you live in Detroit Michigan then the game would come on 10:30PM.

If you live in Washington DC and get home tonight around 1AM........and still want to watch some football to end the night......guess what game they are going to be watching?

Well do you want the occasional 9:30pm start time, or would you rather 250 million people flood our Central time zone?

Actually , now that i think of it, we'd probably have MORE of those games...

Too many games in one day then. Ours should be in prime time. They needed to figure out a way where probably the best game of the day doesn't start at 9:30 for one team's market and 10:30 p.m. for the east coast where no one will see it. I don't see any other games starting that late regardless of time zone. How did we get so lucky?

What does the east coast matter with usc vs A&M? I don't think either team has a strong presence over there. Plus I swear we kicked off at 8 pm playing in a NYE bowl in Florida against NC St in 2018. That would've been 9 local time there. It's not unprecedented

I think I have read where the Eastern and Central Time Zones dominate CFB ratings regardless of where the game is played. This was one of the factors for the migration of large West Coast Programs eastward into the B1G.
Eyeballs get TV money; money attracts large CFB programs.

I live on the west coast, this gives me time to work a full day, watch Jeopardy at 7PM and then settle in for some football.

I don't mind it

Trust me, I count my blessings on this one. I'm working from home today and she literally slept until 10. I'm going to pass on her nap today so we can repeat it tomorrow.

Holidays Bowl game starts at 5 pm Pacific, 7 pm central.

Now it does but it never used to

The 1990 Holiday Bowl, where we played BYU, kicked off at 4:30 PST (6:30 College Station time). Pretty much the same as it did every year around then.

Speaking of watching Aggie football games in different time zones ... I watched the 1990 Holiday Bowl live starting at 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, 30 December, on Armed Forces Radio and Television Network in my bachelor officer quarters in Aschaffenburg, Germany. After the game ended I packed up my television, took a nap, then reported to my M1A1 Abrams tank battalion headquarters to board buses that took our soldiers to Rhein-Main Air Force Base. We then flew by C-141s to al Jubail, Saudi Arabia, for Operation Desert Shield, arriving on New Year's Eve and two weeks before Operation Desert Storm and the "Air War" began. It was nice having the resounding Aggie Holiday Bowl victory to think about while deploying to the Persian Gulf that year.

It will start at 7:30 regardless of whether the game in front of it runs late.

Don't go 8-4; maybe go 9-3 or 10-2. Me thinks you would get a "better" bowl game and a "better" time.

Sometimes they'll delay the start a little. If not, the start will be on one of the alternate ESPN channels.

This game will have effectively the same audience regardless of the time of day. Neither team has a great record or anything else that would interest the masses. It's two average teams playing each other, with backup QBs. There's really no compelling story that would warrant a better time slot, or interest from anyone outside of the two school's fanbases, and some amount of people that just watch football because it's football.

7:30 is still too late of a start to a football game IMO.

To me 6:30 or 7 local time should be the latest it starts. Most college football games will go at least 3.5 hours

ESPN sets the times, not casinos. Plus there are way more people in Vegas right now, that have no clue a football game is tonight
