I don't want to play spoiler but history is going to be made today going on the preface of the OP. One of these teams are going to win two bowl games in the same season.

And next week some team is going to win a 3rd bowl game in one season. Who saw that one happening? Oh yeah, everyone.

They aren't bowl games anymore. Either stay as a one game Bowl Game or be a playoff venue

Making history implies it's something significant though. Which it is not. It's just a new playoff format. And every year teams are going to be doing it. So states it's the first time. Making history. Nope, not really. Making history implies it will be remembered forever. No one's going to care about this at all.

Awesome. We made history this year being the first 3 loss team in history that still controlled its own destiny to win the national championship.

No team had EVER DONE THAT IN HISTORY!
