Not likely Reed will become expensive. He didn't show me much later in the season. His passing game was lacking as well as his running. I see him easily replaced.

This seems to be an immediate burst of rich people who think they're capable of being general mangers. When the ROI is "how much did I enjoy the season" and the potential loss is millions of dollars, I think there will be some cooling on mega contracts like this in the future.

NFL team get to offer insane money because they financlially profit from the success of the team and its players. The NIL donors will not get that. And if their investment fails, I think they're more likely to going back to buildings with their name on it than hit or miss teenagers.

Things to worry about this should not be on the list
If Reed has one really good year and the Ags make the playoffs I doubt a bidding war erupts
If he has 2 good years it will be time for him to do it at the NFL level

I have no doubt our BMAs will step up and willingly pay the big money if a guy earns it. Judging based on our history of paying coaches, we will undoubtedly overpay even! Have we had a single star performer leave us yet? This is not something to worry about.

I agree. Especially as this continues to morph into the unbridled free agency that it is. Take the Michigan QB recruit thats getting paid stupid money. He probably starts as a freshman next year. If Michigan wins 7-8 games, but no playoffs but he has a good year statistically and another school comes in and overpays next year and he transfers, that would leave a pretty bad taste in my mouth. That means somebody spent 2-3 million for an average record and then the kid simply leaves.

I know some of these donors have that amount of "**** you" money, but it will always be a losing investment with 0 guarantee of success.

If only the players would try this hard to earn their money!

With the wide receivers coming in, Miles maybe the better option and if not a very capable #2 who I wouldnt have a problem with if an injury were to occur to Reed. Not that i want an injury to occur.

But with our #1 and #2 they are really better in two different systems just like last season out inital #1 and #2 were better in two different systems

May have already been but is Elko similar to Jimbo in that the QB position is wide open for competition in spring/summer or will Reed already be pre-determined to be the starter unless otherwise?
