The reason the bevel logo exists, and it does this job very well, is that it makes most authentic branding immediately identifiable compared to knockoff stuff. If you were in school even as recently as 1999-2000ish the real A&M merch that was in places like the MSC bookstore was all garbage that look like fake by even 2000s standards. Backpacks with generic aTm lettering slapped on them, a million keychains with logos of varying sizing, colors, and accents.

Perhaps there are other ways a professional identifiable brand could have been done, such as the logo on the helmet above, but also Im not sure that having an official logo that was more than the aTm would have been accepted back then or not by the people who oppose all change.

The T Star University seal should never have been changed. That's one thing I think actually matters.

All those things could be addressed without modifying the logo to something tacky. We look like a third-tier school with it and I'm particularly disgusted that we changed our seal.

For collegiately licensed products, we should be enforcing the use of our logo. A solid marketing department would stipulate size, CMYK colors, offsets, etc. to avoid most of the junk from large merchandisers.

Absolutely clownish. Compare our university seal to UT or any other reputable university. It's embarrassing. The bevel is a third rate athletic logo that our university brass didn't have the cojones to put on our football helmets, but put on our official university seal. You guys want to know why we haven't won anything of substance in decades? Because we have terrible leadership that thinks the bevel was a good idea/execution.

Well, the first is not beveled.

Bevel is terrible and looks like a mistake.

What if, and this is just a hypothetical, what if the same season the athletic department put the bevel "T" on the helmets we went on to win the National Championship?

You'd see zoo meltdown from the announcement til 9-0, then it would be unanimous that the old logo is what perpetuated the curse.

Athletic dept has gone to the state outline with the bevel as their unofficial official mark it looks like.
