in that top video I just added to the top OP, Shemar said he got pressure a lot even though more sacks evaded him.

I believe we definitely did less with more, but there most certainly was some absolute bull**** calling going on. The probability other teams went that long without a holding is completely unbelievable.

I know I'm falling into the trap but it is insanely frustrating.

I mean, think of it like this - if we were getting a guy that was a sure fire lock to be a top 15 pick in the draft, wouldn't you expect to get so much more out of him?

Yet Garrett still managed to get a bunch of sacks in college, just could have gotten more. Stewart seems to get close, then put his hands on them like it's a spring game expecting the whistle to blow before he gets anyone on the ground.

He will be a better fit as a 3-4 defensive end. He moved the pocket and if he ends up with a great edge rusher he will put up much better sack totals.

I get no pleasure out of watching our former players get NFL draft hype if they didn't perform like it here. It actually just pisses me off. You're a first round pick and you completely disappeared in your last 6 college games? That's weak as hell. I'm an A&M football fan, not an NFL draft football fan.

Shemar Stewart and his buddies on the DL started standing straight up every time the ball was snapped at about the halfway point in the season, just playing to protect their draft stock.

2024 defensive line kind of reminds of the 2007 defensive line

with Bennett, Bryant, and Harrington

based upon their NFL success and/or draft...the defense should have been great or at least able to stop the run

Plenty of talent. Scourton (turned his motor off a lot), Turner (very undisciplined), Stewart (best of the three but couldn't arrive at the QB with his legs under him). Maybe those things get better with NFL coaching, but our DL was the biggest disappointment of all. Cashius Howell was our best DL.

No, he left Mobile after dominating workouts. No need to play in the game after that. His agent likely received some solid info on his stock so that was that. I think 3 or 4 guys did the same.

That play was used to show Shemar's bend, a quality looked for in edge rushers. Von was one of the best at it. It's a relevant metric used by scouts. HTH
