Look im gonna keep it brief i love A&M and the A&M athletics but after High school, I wasn't able to attend A&M though and had to work from the day I walked that stage of HS graduation. but can I be a Fan in this fanbase?

We rip on TU all the time for Tshirt fans but it doesn't seem like they have any in-fighting

what does getting a degree make me a better fan of A&M?
Well ...
#1) I can say that getting a degree at Texas A&M gave me a lot more opportunities and opened doors for me in my life.
#2) If you have an opportunity & do choose to attend in future ... you'll probably be taught how to properly spell t.u. ... You probably won't become a grammar ninja, but you will learn that.

"Tshirt fans" don't post on online forums. They just wear the shirt and run their mouths when they hear about the win.

The difference is all tu t shirt fans I have met are obnoxious while most if not all tu grads that I have met are respectful. The worst tu fans who misspell Aggie and insist on the little brother thing are almost all tshirt fans. Most of my adult life the Texas Aggies have been better that the t sips in the 3 major sports. So I object to any historical reference using all time records etc. truth is tu has been closer to Nebraska
Since the Big 12 exits than they have been to us.

The only problem with T-shirt fans is when they become insufferable doiche bags…

This. I don't mind sips that are actually decent people, it's the insufferable t-shirt fans that generally cause problems.

In the 80s we outsold sip on t shirts and it wasn't even close. Academy. Walmart. Very little burnt orange in those stores. And plenty of maroon and white.

Remember how many fans the Patriots had across the country.

Do you see how many Chiefs fans there are now?

Success will always increase a fan base.

I personally have never liked is using the term as I believe it's an indictment on ourselves.

Currently they have the bigger brand. And until we start not just beating them consistently again but also get in the conversation for SEC championships and thus nattys ; it's going to be that way.

Simply put. The goal actually would be to increase our t shirt fan base. It means we're winning.

I don't see why it would make him mad. I read your post as being ironic. In that you're a T-shirt fan and yet you are posting in an online forum.

People that support A&M but didn't go there--whatever. You have to realize that if you do not wear the ring, you have nothing invested.

Having a ring doesn't preclude you from posting moronic takes.

Who cares

Fans are a good thing.

You must be a BMA. Otherwise, you're just like everyone else who posts here for fun with no real say in what happens.

Calling anyone a t-shirt fan is insulting. There is no justification for it. Saying it is arrogance and it should stop. A fan is a fan.

I am sorry you don't like the truth. Someone wearing an Aggie t-shirt can take it off and put on a Baylor, Tech, or U of Timbuktu shirt in 30 seconds and that is that. Us that wear the ring have time, money, and a lot more invested. Especially when our children wear the ring too. Truth.

You're wrong son. I didn't attend A&M because I didn't need to. I served my country for four years, and then started a successful business. Successful enough to put two kids thru A&M. They have zero student debt. I've also donated to A&M and have been a TMF member, donor and season ticket holder for 10 years. Saying that a person that doesn't have a ring hasn't invested in the school is flat out wrong.
It's unfortunate, but I have done and continue to do more for this school than a huge percentage of graduates.
We chose A&M as a family and I thank god every day for providing my kids this opportunity.

Sounds like we have some things in common

I too served my country and have scars to prove it. My oldest is about to be a senior at A&M and has a 4.0 gpa (Ag Eco) all while working, going to church and dating the same guy she met at church when she was in the 8th grade. He's class of 27 (A&M)

But neither of them has gotten on a plane to fly to an Aggie game, driven across state lines to see an aggie football game or Aggie baseball game. They've never been to a bowl game. They also never set their alarm for 2am to LISTEN to an aggie football game while living in some sheet hole country

Get off your high horse guy. My aggie Fandom probably dwarfs yours. Ive posted countless pics of myself wearing aghie gear in a bunch of stadiums not named Kyle Field

OU, Notre Dame, Miami, Troy, Mizzou, Ole Miss, LSU, Gainsville, Colorado..

Edit
I got you and the previous poster mixed

I couldn't care less whether a fan holds a degree or where it is from. If you're a loyal Aggie fan, then welcome aboard.

I think the "t-shirt fan" grumbling stems mostly from the people who jump on the tu (or Bama, LSU, etc) bandwagon only once there's success. Those kind of people love to tell Aggies what losers we are, when we have no respect for their fandom.

A t-shirt sip with a music degree from Hardin Simmons was talking engineering smack about how superior tu was to A&Ms Dwight Look College of Engineering.
