gonna be the Slenderman, Brady Hart, and the first task for him is to eat a dang sandwich.
just looked up a picture of him for reference, saw his commit post to the Ags, dang he is pencil-thin lmao

I'm semi-worried about our staff's ability to healthily bulk Hart because Jimbo's staff never seemed to do that particularly well. James Foster and Haynes King were both complete sticks and yet they trotted them out there.

Reed is also very thin and didn't really bulk up any from his freshman year to sophomore. Granted, he wasn't supposed to start this year and did absorb some scary big hits (with little-to-no apparent damage), but I'll worry if he's out there this year again without him filling out his frame.

You know who is also in many of the top 10-15 returning QB lists? Haynes King.

Really wish this narrative would die. King was not good here and didn't get much better at GT. He seems to have fixed his problem with INTs while there, but hasn't got much else to show for it.

He was mid and is still pretty mid. Anyone saying otherwise is either an idiot or wishcasting.

You are missing the point entirely.

The person OP said Jimbo can't recruit QBs. But one of his recruits is on top 10 lists for returning starters.

He can recruit them. He couldn't develop or put them in an offense for success.

Maybe I did miss your point. My bad if so.

The OP originally said (originally) Jimbo was dumb for picking Weigman over Klubnik because Klubnik appeared as the #1 returning QB on some idiot's list (and Weigman didn't) meaning Jimbo had a chance to grab the best one of those two and chose wrong.

You seem to be saying Haynes King is good because he also appeared on one or more of those lists.

If that's what each of you meant, I disagree heavily with both of y'all. Klubnik is mid. King is even more so.

The only way King has developed at GT is his reduction in INTs/turnovers, which were a huge issue while he was here. So he went from pretty bad to mid. Don't believe rankings done by idiots.

Partially against your point that Jimbo could recruit but not develop, I think Jimbo was average at the former and terrible at the latter. No Jimbo-recruited QB has gone on to display consistent, above-average production/talent at a different P4 school.

I would argue though that Calzada (maybe) and Weigman were the only true talents Jimbo recruited, and the main reason they didn't get developed is because of his offenses' terrible o-lines. So a bit of an exception

I don't think one position group deserves all the blame. It was a team effort to lose games they should have been at least competitive in before the last possession…

Not 100% sure what you're talkin' about here, but I meant that injuries pretty much destroyed our (potentially) talented QBs physically, so it's harder to confirm their talent.

O-line for sure gets the lion's share of the blame for Weigman's injury. For Calzada you're right, definitely some blame on the o-line, and also some on his decision to try and truck Auburn safety Smoke Monday for like no real reason. Not exactly the greatest of choices imo

Klubnik was very close to Dabo for a long time. Would it have been better to go all in for Klubnik and ignore Weigman? I think most belueve we played it right- offered two of the best QBs in the country at virtually same time, and said we're onky tking one of them.

no problem AT ALL with that approach.

Also, guve credit to Fisher (as I hold my nose)- many said Weigman wouldnt end up as college QB and woulf fovus on MLB.

The other thing GT coaches did with King was to get rid of at least some of the big hitch he had in his throwing motion. Why Jimbo never did anything to address that, especially if he is supposed to be some QB guru, is beyond comprehension.
