The other dude in the video is exactly my same reaction. Facial expressions and all.

But hey, 50% of the teams lose on Saturdays right?

Hmm you just said about Elko that "Jimbo said similar things"

You tell me, what do you like to hear? Ya win some and ya lose some from your AD?

We're Texas A&M and we expect and demand that we complete for championships. We haven't been doing that. We will continue to work relentlessly to change that.

He is just waiting to go back to his alma mater once A&M makes it to the playoffs.

That's Berry Tramel, or a clone of his, the long-time OU media homer. He has always looked exactly like that in every picture or video ever. Seriously, look him up. That's his happy face in that video.

Here, I just pulled a video at random. Didn't even watch it but just look at him on the thumbnail.

Did you ever watch him as Mark May's sidekick on ESPN? Mark was the witty one. And he was a dunce.

So far he's directing athletics about like he picked games. "I think Oklahoma wins quite easily.." 55-19 USC.

We have never been serious contenders for championships. Why would that suddenly start now?

This is what worries me. We go to school there and get brainwashed into being rah-rah Aggies. We graduate and the rah-rah lasts for about 25 years of futility. By the time we say "wtf….something has to change", there's 25 years of rah-rahs in the pipeline saying "we only ran out of time bus driver; we'll get 'em next year; hump it Ags". Then you turn around and we've sucked for 100 years.

Why would you say "quote competition" business? If you're the Athletic Director you're definitely in a competition business, and the "quote" downplays the primary responsibility and perceived purpose of fielding athletic teams.

(I know an athletic director at Texas A&M is primarily there to make substantial revenue for the school, but at least pretend that winning is of some concern).

Ah.... we just need to get things to "settle down a little bit"

Yeah, being ranked #1 pre-season and #1 post-season tend to make people uppity when it comes to expectations, as does a top 10 football ranking.

we need to learn our place as Aggies and accept losing and falling on our face with an "aw shucks" attitude.

Settle Down Ags, we have captain win-some-lose-some at the helm!

It's a Slocum'ism too from back in the day. Not sure what else he'd say publicly, but if he's doing an aww schucks sometimes you win and sometimes you lose behind the scenes, then issues galore at that point.

Culture is mediocre and not sure who could change it frankly. So many teams 'failed', did not live up to expectations or couldn't finish the job this year...it's not a positive trend for the obvious.

Trev was brought in to get coaches on school friendly contracts, reduce staff costs and hopefully win some games. The idiots who gave Jimbo that stupid extension set us back big time.

Dain Bramage from his playing days at Nebraska.

If anyone justifies this vid after the losses to t.u. in all major men's sports, I'd suggest drinking the first cut of their moonshine.

No! Don't pretend anything.

Take full responsibility, be 100% honest, and be hyper competitive in your career field

Trev is pathetic and a thief in my book. Earning all that money and not doing his job

I really think we have to examine what his "job" actually is? Was he hired to bring success in athletics? Did his resume prove that he was capable of doing that consistently? Or was he hired to rein the finances in because BMAs are tired of throwing money into the fire? I'd like to think we have infinite resources but eventually people want ROI or at the very least stop bleeding. Based on what I've seen I don't think Trev's primary role is to stuff the trophy case with Big 3 sports hardware.

I'm guessing a large part of why he was brought here was the $300+ million deal he signed with PlayFly for Nebraska. We've now signed a $500+ million deal with them, but I still don't know how real that money is. Every time I read about the details I get an Enron vibe.

Trev Alberts wasnt brought in to overhaul coaching and the culture. He was brought in to overhaul the money, put A&M in a driver's seat position in regards to NIL and the future of college sports. He is doing all of those things really well. Alberts has a goal of being a power player in the industry and he is doing just that while repositioning A&M by being on committees as opposed to previous ADs that did whatever tu said or were so aloof they were iced out of everything.

The next AD will inherit an athletic department that is much better financially positioned to make any big hires it needs to while attracting top tier talent and if needed overhaul the culture behind the scenes. If coaches are losing then he will fire them if possible, it is pretty cut and dry especially in the big 3. He is a professional he isnt going to be like Bjork and ramble on with his foot in his mouth. I question some of y'alls professional experience in corporate America if you think Trev isnt doing his job well.

We were a small all-male military college for a long time, and still suffering the effects of that in athletics until the 1980s. Anything before about 1980 isn't really relevant.

Thank you for eloquently making the point I was trying to communicate. We have to accept what his job actually is. And like you said, he's doing his job quite well. We all want his job to be winning titles/on field success but that ain't what he's here to do right now. Accept it and move on. And to your point, the next guy will be primed for success with the right hires. We just got a road to get there.

I guess, but you could argue there was more success before 1980 than after. Also, Notre Dame was THE dominant face of college football as a small private university in the 20th century and they didn't start allowing women until 1972. So…

Yeah, you lost me with this take.

Our only national championship in football was 1939. All male...

We have shown some success in the 80s, some in the 90s, a cotton bowl blow out (2012) and an Orangle bowl victory (2020)

People need to stop holding on to that tired excuse. The traditions we're using that date back to when A&M was an all male school MIGHT be holding back the athletic department but even then im not sold.
