From TexAgs Sponsor, Aggieland Hydration & Injectables:

Tailgating in Texas isn't for the faint of heartespecially during football season. Hours in the blazing sun, that thick Texas humidity, and one-too-many "just one more" beers? Yeah, hydration takes a hit fast.

Here's the game plan:
  • Start hydrating before you pull up to the lot (yes, even if your cooler is packed with "hydration of another kind").
  • Mix in some water or electrolyte drinks between your beers - your body (and your Sunday morning) will thank you.
  • Remember: salty snacks + alcohol = double the fluid loss.
Whether you want to get ahead of the heat with a pre-game hydration boost or need a hangover Hail Mary the next day, the nurses at Aggieland Hydration & Injectables are ready to get you back in the game.

Skip the post-game misery. Book your pre-game drip or next-day rescue at Aggieland Hydration & Injectablesbecause tailgating is a sport, and hydration is how you win.

2007 Fresno St. V Texas A&M
Sept 8 day game in a game that lasted 5 hours. (or so it seemed)
Whole game was an absolute oven, and it was so humid it rained in OT.

Entire 2nd half the ramps on the E Side were lined with people laying down and they were giving out free water.
Students moved from the N side to the S Side when the teams switched during OT

Definitely the '07 Fresno St. game.

I don't remember much about the '93 LSU game other than we started slow and ended up whipping them. I do remember the '93 tu game being one of the coldest I can remember. And that includes that miserable bowl game in Shreveport.

Yep. The worst by far and I attended almost every home game from '87 to 2016.

We were in The Zone and several people passed out around us. One guy passed out right in front of me in the restroom and I sorta caught him and eased him down to the ground. Someone called for the medics and they showed up with two giant bags of ice that they literally just plopped on top of him.

I was so happy when Jorvorskie Lane decided enough of this mess and took over in the 17th overtime or whatever it was.

I bet the guy that passed out was sure glad you were there to assist with the catch!
Sounds like you've had quite a few memorable weather experiences attending games!

The 2016 game vs New Mexico State. I was stupid and didn't wear any sunscreen. I also remember a lone cloud being the MVP of that game. We got kicked out of the liquor store for laying down in the walk-in and a nice lady at HEB saw me when I walked it and took me to the lidocaine aloe vera.

'89 LSU.

Temp hit 114 on the field.

Staring into the sun all day on the student side of the stadium it felt like 140

This was the first A&M game I ever attended as a kid. When I was a student, I got to meet Stephen McGee and talk to him about the game. He remembered it being one of the hottest games on the field, too. Pretty wild. My parents and I stayed for the whole game. Fell in love with Aggieland that day.

Assuming the rules are the same as when I was a student a couple years ago, you can bring in a sealed container. We used to bring in gallon jugs of water. Definitely worth it for the season opener.

SMU 2005

Yep. That game was also a miserable day.. SMU 05, the Fresno State game, and one of the early 90s LSU games were just awful. We left the stadium at beginning of 4th quarter of SMU game and walked over to the MSC and laid on the floor and watched the rest of the game. One of my friends ended up with a bad case of heat stroke.

Hot -- Fresno State.

Cold and miserable - game versus teasips 1958 in Austin. Just looked it up on teasip site. 41 degrees and drizzling rain. We were outscored 0-27.

Bring your water with you. The last time I purchased water there it was $4 a bottle. You can purchase a case for that at grocery stores

My son was at that game, and claims that he led the Great Aggie Migration mentioned above. He was part of it.

I heard over 500 people required medical assistance that day.

I wasn't at Fresno St. so I can't speak to that one.
The hottest I've ever been at Kyle was 2013 Rice, the Johnny suspension game. But I think the hottest I've ever been at an Aggie game was at Clemson in 2019. Just brutal.

Totally agree . We didn't know much about hydration back then. I was a fish in the Aggie Band and in those days we went on the field and played for the entire Corps March In. A number of people fell out including a senior that was a well conditioned Airborne Ranger. Previous night's alcohol could have been a factor for sure . It was also Astro turf rather than grass . That definitely made it worse . Shoe /boot polish was melting off shoes and I had green astroturf melted on my shoes as well. I cannot imagine playing football on that .

I can't remember if it was 11 Am , 1 Pm , or 2 PM kickoff . I suspect 1 PM ish. 11 Am and the March In wouldn't have been that brutal . Field temps had to be 120F at least.

+1 for this one. The LSU game mentioned was a scorcher too.

The MOST hydrated I've ever been was the 1997 Texas game they put folding chairs on the track and I was sitting right on a drain and sat in ankle deep water the entire second half. We won so totally worth it.

07 fresno state for sure. was on 3rd deck and you could watch people sway and drop about every 2 minutes. most of us were shirtless by the end of the game just so we could breath due to the humidity. under the decks looked like triage .

I think the worst part of that day was that there was 0 air movement. just stale humidity and heat.
