Max Johnson beat us as the QB for LSU. I mean, Strom Thurmond's father was a Civil War veteran, so I suppose anything is possible.

Why would he bail? Dude is almost 64 years old and his contract is ironclad. If they fire him, he walks away with a huge payday and I don't see him being hired by anyone that would pay like LSU did. The book is out on him just like with Franklin. He is a good coach, but not an elite one.

I suspect that by the end of the year you have Florida, Florida State, Penn State, Wisconsin, and Auburn all looking for coaches. I don't think any of them would be looking at Kelly. He might be able to land one of the jobs of the coaches who leave for those jobs if he really wanted out of town, but they won't pay the same or be on a level that would feed his ego.

I think LSU is stuck with at least one more year of Kelly. The alumni will probably do what Florida did with Napier, try and buy the best talent on the transfer market and hope it rights the ship.

So he doesn't get fired. All you say is correct but it makes him harder to hire if he's fired. Guys like that also can't stand the failing part of getting fired.

Why would bk be afraid of getting fired with a fully guaranteed contract? He's not going to get similar terms/pay at his next job with how this has gone. He's gonna ride this through, then possibly start looking at another job

They already have a coach who can't win big games. Why the heck would they get rid of Kelly to hire Franklin that would honestly be a downgrade. Unlike in the SEC Franklin just had to beat one team and he was never able to do it.

If we beat LSU, I think LSU will lose 2 more road games to Alabama and Oklahoma for a 7-5 (3-5 SEC) finish, 6-1 (3-1 SEC) home record and 1-4 (0-4 SEC) road record. LSU would go winless in SEC road games for the first time since 1999, and that could be enough to get Brian Kelly fired.
