31 years ago, a great A&M team put together an incredible season which started with a win on the road in Baton Rouge. They were denied a shot at glory but deserved to be considered one of the best teams in the country.
18 years later, another incredible A&M team took the college football world by storm; many people thought, based on how they were playing at the end of the season, that they could have won it all; but a slip up against LSU meant that they weren't eligible for that opportunity.
Now we are on the precipice of another significant moment for what seems like yet another significant A&M team. We may not have done everything right in every game, and there have certainly been moments that we wish we could have back, but to this point in the season we have been perfect. And when we go on the road to face LSU tomorrow, we will have the opportunity to do something that hasn't been done in 31 years, and potentially set the stage for something that hasn't been done in 86.
Regardless of what happens tomorrow, the season will continue. A loss doesn't mean our dream season is done, and a win doesn't mean it can't go wrong later. But tomorrow we will get a chance to set something right that has been wrong for a very long time. I believe that a win in Baton Rouge tomorrow will signal a fundamental shift in who we are as a program, and tell the world that this is a team to fear.
I'm ready for our boys to turn the page and write their names in history. This game will be the moment where they prove that they're ready to do just that. Let's go get the win, Ags. Beat the hell outta corn dog!!!
