I'm starting to think LSU lit the match without realizing they put down gas between themselves and the exit.

Surely there's no way Kiffin goes there anymore, right? This entire thing has turned into a clown show and no coach can trust that the program is stable enough to actually build anything. They might be forced to rehire Orgeron at this pace.

I wouldn't think Woodward acted alone without checking to see he has the$ line up to fire Kelly and hire a new coach without checking with his boosters?

The program isn't exactly printing money. Just about 1 million in reported profit. They're still paying Coach O's buyout through the end of this year. Now they opened a 53 million dollar can of worms.

Doesn't lane have a $36 million buyout? And the new contract will have to exceed $100 million.

What happens when the donations slow down because the next coach isn't as successful as they hoped?

Kelly filed lawsuit against LSU to get full buyout.

LSU is claiming that they haven't fired him yet and is trying to say they have grounds to fire him with cause.

Lane Kiffin's buyout at LSU is larger than Brian Kelly's—and it's guaranteed.

Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry vowed LSU's next football coach's buyout would be different, but Kiffin's $91M deal includes no offset or requirement to look for other jobs if he's fired.

That's because it's printed in English. Print it in French/Cajun and those rates go way down.

To add to all this, I just read that LSU is going to pay Kiffen a bonus to replace what he would have earned at Ole Miss for the playoff run, however long it may be. Looks to be between a quarter million for making the CFB quarterfinal up to a max of one million for winning it all.

Also going to pay up to a half million between the purchase price of his home in Miss and his new one in Baton Rouge. Clearly an incentive to keep his new home modest!

My favorite is that he complained that everyone is getting fooled by Jimmy Sexton and details have emerged that Kiffin is entitled to bonuses even before he starts at LSU. If Ole Miss wins the natty he earns a $1M bonus before his first practice with LSU.

Also it sounds like Landry's loophole is that he can blame the whole thing on Trump if things turn south with Kiffin.
