I'm with the OP. YTTV has a huge number of eyeballs, and not everyone wants to keep switching between apps to see what they want. And the UI of most of the apps suck as does hulu and fubo. Not to mention espn is sip, not us for sure. Fubo and Hulu are Disney owned.
I hate tu. It's in my blood.

Anyone remember when YouTubeTV led the charge in the covid season to keep us out of the playoffs? I distinctly remember their frontman Kirk Herbstreit saying, late in November, "Oh yeah, Oklahoma is a way better team than Texas A&M. Texas A&M has no business in the playoffs."

Oh wait. Maybe that wasn't YouTubeTV, but rather the multinational enterprise whose monopolistic whimsy they're trying to curtaill.

What? Of course it wasn't YouTubeTV. YouTubeTV is just the carrier of the content.

Surely you meant ESPN.

Same...but I will also get a sling day pass for $5 to watch the Ags.

Plot twist, they don't include the SEC Network, but meh.

I did the SlingTV day pass last week and it definitely had the SEC Network, I was able to watch the SEC Final that night. It looked to have all the ESPN channels, ESPNU, ESPNEWS, the Ocho and ABC.

It was 6.39 billed to my card, buy it early Saturday morning and you're set for 24 hours.

And...It does not have the Multiview that YTTV has and it was greatly missed....

All you need to do is go on regular YouTube and type Texas A&M vs Missouri Football and there will be 4-5 people streaming it in HD. You won't need to click on a link or anything. It's been like that for years and you don't have to pay. Normally 50-100k watching and chatting. It's free, all college football games are being streamed.

True. I started watching tu vandy like that, then all streams of it went black, with a message that policy was being violated. YTTV (google) is playing hardball. Disney REPORTEDLY asked for MNF to go on YTTV and for abc to be on tonight (elections) while negotiations go on. The answer was no.

They normally have more pop right back up. I don't run into many interruptions. Maybe it will be monitored more with what's occurring now though.

I remember years in the 80s when the Aggies were not even on TV. I mean it wasn't so long ago our rent-a-win games were PPV. Disney, Google, Satan; I'll pay whoever is guarding the door to watch the Aggies play.

I'm giving YouTubeTV a full billing cycle to work this out. If I have to miss every Aggie game in November, so be it.

I'm not cancelling YouTubeTV. I'm not paying more money for some other streaming service that is still in Mickey Mouse's good graces.

Why? It's incredibly simple:
  • YouTubeTV has no track record of being a strategic threat to our program.
  • ESPN does.
  • Disney does.
p.s. I refuse to download the gggdddd ESPN app when they boot our broadcasts to, e.g. make way for a slobberfest for one of their high-investment properties ("elites" heh heh).

p.p.s. f ESPN I hope YouTubeTV puts the screws to them.

ESPN is the best thing for the SEC. I don't understand how people get this confused. These fights are for more money for the SEC. Where do you think the money comes from? It's not all chicken wrap sales.

Why don't you just cancel your YTTV subscription until they get it figured out with Disney, then just sign up again? Why pay for a billing cycle?

So, help me out here. We have You Tube and we have an antenna hoked up to get ABC. Both work great.

Is it possible to record on those channels? We rarely if ever watch live TV. Is there a recording device like TiVo I'd need?

(Wifey is twisting my arm because she records General Hospital every day)

Thanks Ags.

I also will hold out for YouTube.

If we need it, I recommend listening on the Internet on the WTAW website. Going to a bar for four hours to watch can get expensive.

Especially if pulled over driving home.

okay, someone explain the youtube loyalty to me.

You pay them for a service they cannot provide, for whatever reason. Youre paying them to watch games they no longer have. Why on earth would you reward them for not providing the service you paid them for? Its their problem to figure out how to provide the service for the agreed upon price, not yours.

People on TexAgs are convinced that Disney are somehow evil pedophiles... or "groom children" or something. To that end, they won't subscribe to Hulu and want SEC football off of Disney's channels. These same people are apparently grossly ignorant of Google's corporate history.

I mean, I think that too, but why would that necessitate being a bargaining chip for youtube? If you're sticking it to disney on moral or philosophical grounds you would not watch any college football game on a disney network to begin with, right?

Let it go, Hulu is actually pretty good! I like college football more than I like YTTV…or any network.

I'm fairly certain Texags is behind all of it.

They just announced Texags Live to be on the Houston Space City channel which is on…. Fubo. So as good Houston ags do, we should all go from yttv to Fubo.

Disney owns 100% of Hulu and 70% of FUBO so this is not a completely accurate description of the fight.

The only thing YouTubeTV has going for it is that their revenue is inconsequential to Google's bottom line so they probably aren't as threatened by Disney hardball tactics as old school cable companies.

I think the main disagreement is programming more than $. YouTubeTV wants to offer a sports only package (espn, fox sports, cbs sports, nbc sports, nfl network, etc.) but espn will only agree to that if YouTubetv subscribers log into the espn unlimited app; YouTubeTV says all the channels need to be in the YouTubeTV app; customers don't want to switch back and forth between apps. This is the main disagreement.

Good point. I thought ESPN has been willing to do that with other content platforms.

ESPN/Disney has been the one against the skinny Sports only Bundles in the past. Want ESPN? Well you have to also take FreeForm and ESPN News or whatever.

ESPN has been the main culprit of every dispute that has lead to blackouts with Dish/Sling, Directv, Comcast, Cox, Contental Cablevision, RoadRunner, MediaOne, Charter, or whatever.

sling day pass or antenna. cheap and easy.

I left YTTV because the prices are insane and go up constantly. it's fine if you want a traditional cable experience without a contract.

I only bought it for football season. sling day pass is a sweet spot that i only have to pay for the day i want to watch and sometimes i am unable to watch games every Saturday anyone.

This is starting to annoy me....will Sling Day pass get ABC? or is our game also on ESPN3? How effective is the antenna - anyone have any suggestions on a brand off Amazon?

The way I saw one streamer work around it was putting a screen inside a screen. The sip game was a smaller screen inside the Ohio state game.
