For good or ill, basically all of our major opponents have had some reason to specifically circle the A&M game.

Notre Dame- had just lost to Miami and had a bye to prep for a home match up vs A&M with the belief that if they lose they're out of CFP contention

Auburn- trying to save their hot seat coach's job

Mississippi State- desperately seeking their first SEC win after a heartbreaker the prior week

Florida- fighting hard to save their coach's job. Confident after beating cow the prior week

Arkansas- first game back at home after the embarrassment by ND and Bobby's first back as HC. Rivalry game.

LSU- had just lost to Vandy and was staring down missing the CFP with a loss. Desperate to fight with pride in front of their fans

Mizzou- two losses means they can still make the CFP if they run the table so they'll be desperate to get a win, the back up QB has had two weeks to try and make his mark during the bye week prep

cow- they already have two losses, if they win out they're going to be desperate to win and get into the CFP. If they lose a game, they'll be desperate to stop us from going to Atlanta (or God forbid, the CFP)

Ah, so the other team is going to try to win? Yea, we shouldn't let them.

Yes, there has been a little more motivation to beat A&M each week this season. That happens when you're ranked in the top 10.

This needs to become more of a norm and not an anomaly

It is a norm. Teams have always circled the Aggies to beat since we started playing football.

It's a valid point.

And good.

So this means we lose to USCe cause you overlooked them.

I thought the more crazy stat was that half our wins are against teams with no coach.

I've found that the key to winning football games is to score more points than the other team.

I made a very similar post a few weeks back… and I agree with all of what you said.

In my opinion it makes the wins even more impressive… having to be the team to take other programs' souls.

Four of our five SEC opponents to date have fired their coach THIS SEASON. The one that hasn't, Clanga, ended a 16 game conference losing streak last weekend.

The win at UND is an impressive win. The upcoming games at Mizzou and Texas will be tough. The rest of it has setup miraculously easy for us, especially in comparison to our years spent in the SEC West.

Previous A&M.'teams would have let notre dame and lsu save their seasons and either Auburn or Florida

And most of OP's reasoning was either they were trying to save their coach or they were playing hard for their interim coach

lot of aholes here who are neither funny nor clever.

good points,OP. really is amazing that every team was in a somewhat "must win" situation, including Mizxou this week. they still have outside shot at Playoff.

With the exception of Arkansas, they had their coaches when we played them. The Aggie Grim Reaper facilitated their departure.

Thankfully, our guys only needed them to wear different jerseys to be extra motivated.
