A&M is in. Georgia would be in if beat Texas tonight. If OU, Ole Miss, and Bama win out they are all in. That would be 5 SEC teams. Which would already be 1 more than the expected 4 teams.


0% chance SEC gets Six teams in playoffs. A 9-3,Texas ain't going unless at minimum Bama or OU lose another game. Plus, on top of that Texas would need Ohio State to beat Michigan (Ohio State's Achilles heel) and a few other parley bet things to happen. Loss tonight would be a near death blow to horn's playoff chances.

A&M is disadvantaged in going to the playoffs if we have to play in the SEC championship game. A win in the SEC game does not help with our seed in the playoffs, it costs us a week of rest, and risks injuries.

Both the SECCG and the B10CG are the day b4 the final cfp playoff selection/seeding. Are those games not considered in final seeding? If they are then One of Indiana/Oh St has to lose b4 then.

I looked it up, Conference champ games are considered in final cfb playoff seeding. If we win out we will be no lower than the 2 seed

So the comment above that we could never jump Oh St or Indiana in the seeding is wrong

Yes, I would bet a 10-2 OU with best win @Bama and no bad losses would be ranked above a 9-3 Texas team with best win home versus A&M and a bad loss @ Florida in the playoff seedings. OU would be ranked higher. I don't think the committee would even debate something like that much. OU would have the notably better resume.

A 42-6 beat down of Texas so bad that everyone looks at their record and goes "Two OT wins against bad teams, a win over an overrated Vandy, and an OU team with a QB missing a thumb. This is probably who they are."
