When the SEC Student Athlete Availability Report comes out, just look and see if Moss is still in the OUT. If not, well there you go.

IIRC, Anderson was the only one listed as OUT for Samford. And we'll get him back for the playoffs.

They didn't release one for Samford because those reports are only required in games where two SEC teams are playing each other. You'll get one this week for the tu game.

How often will Klein need 1 or 2 yards to gain on 3rd or 4th down and line up in the shotgun to require a 6 - 7 yard play?

Moss is a really great short yardage back. Love having him when we need 3 or 4 yards.

And he consistently turns many of those into 4 broken tackle and a truck for 20-40 yards.

And there's a safety on the other side, apparently their best player and team leader, who is REALLY good at getting trucked.

This isn't a meaningless game… outside of it being a rivalry, the SEC champ game is at stake and high seed in the CFP.

Outside of games, this has a huge meaning for recruiting. Our trophy case is empty along with the number of visits to Atlanta in December.

I'm going to let you all in on a secret.... he was good to go 2 weeks ago but he's been with a QB coach refining his skills for the much vaunted goal line RB pass play.

Laugh, but Moss actually did run that play against ND. Either his 2nd or 3rd TD. Wisely, he kept the ball instead of trying to throw to Marcel.

Some folks (mainly Bama/UGA fans) now refer to the SEC title game as meaningless as well if that tells you anything. Perhaps that gives them an excuse if they lose.

If we're just going to use him to run into the sip line for 4 downs on goal to go, I'd say keep him out

Maybe somebody posted that before the game then. I just remember reading it somewhere.

Based on this, presumably Moss status on the Tuesday availability report will be Doubtful or Questionable instead of OUT.

Not sure Elko is, or wants to be, very transparent on this. The entire press conference was a bunch of non-answers. blah, blah blah ... Texas is a very talented, good football team, blah, blah, blah....

I couldn't tell if he was trying to keep answers close to the chest, or if he was just impatient and maybe wanted to just get back to work. I was leaning towards the latter when listening/watching him.

Ags probably need to win this game to make the SEC championship game and probably need to win the ship to get a bye. tu needs to win to have a chance at the playoffs. How much more meaning do you want?

Moss was practicing in pads for South Carolina week, he's been running around for a week+ in pads now, though who knows how much contact. Tomorrow, we'll see what he's listed at in the availability report. Elko might have been acting a bit cagey today on that topic.

I doubt we see him play any longer. He's injury prone plus he hasn't seen much game experience. Dance with who brung us!

Afraid you're right

i cant fathom how someone could want to go to a&m to the point of enrolling, graduating, posting on a football message board and then call ut a meaningless game. Its weird so many of you fundamentally don't understand what we are or what we're doing here.

In today's landscape of college football, winning the UT game makes our path harder. It will be a tough game, then we have to go play what amounts to a home game against the other most physical team in the conference in Georgia. If you win that, you get a bye, so maybe it's a wash in terms of tough games played through the playoffs, but if you lose, you could lose your bye week, and every championship level game you play takes a toll on your team.

You could make a very good argument that losing the UT game, going into the playoffs ranked #5 or #6 is an easier path, i.e. why it's a "meaningless" game in the context of winning a national championship.

My fandom of Aggie football is rooted in A&M being successful. What's weird is rooting your fandom of Aggie football solely around beating Texas.

I want to beat texas because I want to see the Ags win the SEC, but if I had to choose between beating texas and a natty, I know what I'm picking

With Moss and Owens hobbled, it's not surprising that EJ healed up last week.

We're going to need him.

Because being Aggie is more than just disliking tu. Natty > sip win.

I want to beat Texas and win the natty, but it's obvious which is more important. If we do exactly what Ohio State did last year, losing to our rival and winning it all, that is fine by me. I recently saw a Youtube video where some guy was visiting A&M and asked a bunch of students if they could pick between beating Texas every year for 10 years but no national titles, or losing to Texas for 10 years in a row but winning multiple titles, and they picked the former. Absolute insanity!

Everyone has been counting the days for Moss' return since he went out. Have we really missed him that much. I don't feel like we've missed a beat without him. Bussey, morrow, and smith have been doing fine. Also, I feel a bit tentative letting moss knock the rust off against ut.

Has Bussey even played RB this season? I think you meant Owens. BTW, I agree that they have stepped up, but Moss brings that extra power that I don't think these guys have. I would let him knock the rust off by knocking some tu defenders backwards here and there.

Win or lose against tu, we pay the SAME number of games on a path to a natty.

I can't fathom caring about the opinion of a so called Aggie football fan that refers to that school down the road as UT.

The SEC CG is not yet guaranteed to be against Georgia. And win or lose that game may or may not affect our first time bye status. Your analysis is just wrong.

Again, it's tu!

Not accurate. Here are the scenarios

1. Win Friday, Lose CCG, good chance you lose the bye week seeding and are playing first round and on, so you are picking up an extra game, and assuming you are going deeper into playoffs, you are going to play Georgia again.
2. Win Friday, Win CCG, perfect, you are #1 or #2 seed with a bye. This is the ideal scenario, build the statue.
3. Lose Friday, bypass CCG, rest up, go into first round rested and healed up.

You could make a good argument that door #3 is highest odds for an actual title run. That doesn't mean that's what I want, but I won't melt down either.

Again I don't wrap my identity as an A&M fan around what I call the team in Austin. That is objectively stupid if you will allow yourself to zoom out a smidge. Call them whatever you want, try to gate keep all you want, I really don't care.
