So a little dive bar I go to had a big pot luck dinner yesterday. This guy shows up with his tu ring on and proceeds to talk no stop about how they were going to roll us….whatever. Then he proceeds to get at least 5 plates of food, but brought nada. The cherry on top was he was wearing a ghey pride shirt. Perfect summation of that trash school

Lots of neighborhood bars do that.

I didn't partake in any this week, but it's not really unusual to get out of the house and watch some football with the local folks.

**** man, I used to ditch family and drive to Austin or College Station to watch football in person on Thanksgiving day.

Driving around the corner to a dive bar after dinner to watch football with old friends and neighbors is a much smaller decision.

Y'all are pretty judgemental. There are a lot of dysfunctional families out there, including part of mine. After a couple of hours with that bunch a potluck at a dive bar sounds like a pretty good place to hide out!

*I'll also add that, for those of us who live in our hometowns or places we've been for a while, there are folks at the dives who we have known as long as our biological families. It's not exactly cruising or slumming when to go see other people.

And now I feel like I'm defending the OP, which was not my intent. He's kind of a ******.
