This deserves its own thread. Why was there no runoff?

Basically the home clock operator can just stop the clock if the home team gets QB sacked and throws it after?

No run off because no penalty. It should have just been over

they stopped the clock to review the play. should have started rolling at the whistle. didn't matter too much because elko called a timeout anyway.

Add me to the list of questionable clock operation . Ref said Manning was down. tu had no time outs , so why wasn't the clock started again?

Tangential question: what is the system for holding the clock operator accountable? Like if a clock operator blatantly makes mistakes to favor the home team, what happens in CFB?

12 seconds left forced the punt vs a hail mary with 2 seconds.

A&M called timeout after the clock was stopped and was again gonna be started when horn was ready to play...

At that point... calling timeout is the right call because it puts pressure on them if they don't convert the 4th... If Elko lets it run in that scenario, they could have snapped it with like 7-8 seconds and gotten a free shot at converting the 4th or a hail Mary chance..

Point remains the ref/clock operator screwed A&M them. Half should have run out after the sack.
