I've had a feeling since game 1 this year that he is good, but still has a lot of work to do. His decision making, off balance throws, and sometimes his reads are a little suspect.

Is he going to be a high draft pick this year or is there a chance he comes back? With the amount of polish he put in between last year and this year, I think he would be absolutely dominant next year if we could lock in some good receivers.

You honestly think a QB being considered for the Heisman wouldn't get drafted? Especially a dual threat? Do you even watch the NFL?

No way he gets drafted. He's incredibly inaccurate as a passer. Not even close to nfl ready. He can be a great college qb but needs to use his feet more. These last two conference games we've tried to sit him in the pocket all game and that's what he's worst at.

He not consistent enough for the pros. When he's on, he's very very good. When he's not, he's a walking apocalypse on the field.
NFL coaches aren't going to want to have to wonder what Marcel they're going to get this Sunday.

Marcel will end up a pro prospect but ask our offensive coordinator if being a Heisman level dual threat quarterback guarantees being drafted.

Son, spend some time researching the fates of Heisman winning QBs, much less 6th placed vote getters.

ETA; if you think Reeds arm and noodle frame have any shot in the NFL I've got some ocean front property in Arizona you might be interested in. He might stick around as a practice squad or third stringer for a few years, but his NFL fate is becoming a coach by working is way up the ranks of scouts. Reeds arm makes Dillon Gabriel look like a rocket and his frame makes Brock Purdy look like Adonis.

This is what I don't get about this board. We dillusionally hype everything about ourselves (e.g., Reed going pro…LOL) and shat on everyone else (e.g., Sark/Manning suck). Maybe it's the censorship (staff deletes anything "negative"), but there's almost zero rational objectivity here.

Right, the NFL drafts a bunch of inaccurate, not tall, 180 pound QBs with not one but two hitches in their delivery. Reed not only drops his right knee in a futile attempt to bring more drive, but he also baseball throws the ball. I couldn't believe how many nosedive throws he had last night.


Reed is not a NFL guy. He is a good college QB who could still deliver the Championship this year. We could lose him to being outbid on the NIL though. If some team is strangely enamored with Reed he could pull a GA/Miami thing.

Believe he'll be back, but never know in today's game.

If Klein leaves, if fanbase too harsh w expectations (esp if he loses the 1st playoff game), OL will be worse next year (inexperienced), someone offers more money vs value we've contrived internally (ie, reasons we let others go since Elko has been here…we have our own valuation system).

Marcel has never been the guy, he only beat out Wiggy because of his feet. We can win it all with Marcel under center, but we cannot rely on him to lead us there.

We have been waiting for Johnny 2.0 for so long that we try to force our QBs to be a superhero.

Look at all our QB talent at other schools. We've had plenty to work with, we just ask too much of them. Marcel is not an NFL QB, and we will be stuck with him for another year. Hopefully Klein adjusts

He's a good player, but doesn't have the size or strength to play in the NFL.Especially when attempting to force balls in to triple coverage. He didn't use the off season to build strength and size like he should have. He still makes questionable calls when plays are slow to develop or they break down. He's a sophomore. He can get address all of those things if he realizes he isn't as good as his record. Listening to his interviews, he's not bashful comparing himself to Lamar Jackson, and talking about how he's going to leave games making the other team think that they aren't good teams. I ****ing hate when our fans and especially our team runs their mouths before making real success. It ends up like this EVERY TIME.

I mean, he's lead this team to the most successful season in 30 years and is still an incredible leader.

Didnt play his best game last night, but you can say the same about the rest of the team as well. Was hoping that playing sip was the motivation needed to play a solid 4 quarters, but he was playing through what I thought would be a season-ending type injury, yet he hustled out there to help the Aggies win.

Guy has guts.

throw out the UTSA, Utah State, and Samford games...

and he had 15 TD passes and 10 INT's vs. SEC competition and Notre Dame

Needs to be better at throwing into zone coverage, his floaters allow 3-4 defenders to close in on the play.

Makes poor decisions and poor reads when pressured.
Cannot throw an accurate deep ball consistently.
Gets way too nervous given a pressure situation and panics and overthrows his receivers repeatedly.
Has an extremely thin frame and needs to put on some strength and weight.
Marcel is a good but not great college-level qb.
If look at his game objectively you can see he is not NFL ready.

Like I said, I like Reed, but he likes Reed too. And I I would argue that JFF's season was more successful, given the competition we played and beat that year. That's all subjective, and I think he can get better, but he needs to stop running his mouth on all these podcasts if he's going to throw interceptions to quadruple coverage in the end zone.

He needs 15 more pounds or he will be Bryce Younged in the NFL.

Allen Iverson was a better QB in HS than Michael Vick (which he wont deny). Too skinny when 300 pound monsters fall on you. Gotta be 200lbs + for the job.

Locks on first read
Can't see maroon - 7 turnovers in 4 games
Shrinks on the big stage - 0 TDs in 2 games vs Texas

He's an 11-12th round pick. Unfortunately, there's only 7 rounds.
