Yes, win NC. And he still has a shot.
Nothing looks more foolish than tradition to those who have none.

1-11 would've l been acceptable had the 1 win been texas

Since we're moving toward incentive based contracts lets make the next one have a $750k deduction for not beating texas.

Every last one of you would have broke your wrist getting into your pocket to pay him if you were told at the beginning of the season it would go 11 and 1 but lose to Texas.

Get a grip. He's probably more disappointed than anyone. I think some key players let him down, Reed was awful as was Klein.

Elkos defense was equally terrible

I completely agree!

Them securing 9-3 in a down season with a freshman QB learning the ropes stings.

They have come a long way from rotting and on life support in the bdf just a short time ago.

This mentality has to die.
Take it to a back alley and shoot it in the head.

It really does.

I'm just not that interested in the sips any more.

I want the Ags to become the kind of program that makes the playoffs regularly. Rivalries are fun, but they're not the big picture afaic.

I've been preaching this since the end of last year's game. Get 'em out of our headspace. Focus on the bigger picture, which is why we joined the SEC. Bigger stage. Bigger opponents and chances for the Natty.

Not so sure.
if given the choice of winning the NC this year but having to sacrifice a win against the sips to do it, very few of you on this thread wouldn't take that deal. I know I would. We have a shot at the sips every year. We don't have a shot at the NC every year.

BTW, Fran beat the sips his last two years as coach and still got fired. And we were all happy to see him go.

So do I. This loss was most definitely a team effort.

Yes, the loss to Texas stings mightily, especially as an 11-0 road favorite and with the SEC Championship Game appearance on the line for the 2nd straight year. But an 11-1 (7-1 SEC) finish exceeded my realistic expectations. My ceiling was 10-2, but we had exceeded that by going 4-1 in true road games, including dominating road wins over LSU and Missouri by a combined score of 87-42. It's just that after our long 3-game road stretch, we have struggled in our last two SEC games. We trailed 30-3 against 4-8 (1-7 SEC) South Carolina at halftime home before coming back for a 31-30 win.

We did not play well enough in any of the three phases against Texas to win this road game

Offense: we scored just 17 points against a Texas team that allowed 31+ points in regulation in each of their previous 4 games against Mississippi State (38 away), Vanderbilt (31 home), Georgia (35 away), and Arkansas (37 home). I understand that Texas was playing at home in a rivalry game, but it was still an offensive letdown. Marcel Reed threw 2 interceptions on our final 2 drives as he tried to engineer a comeback. The only good thing about our offensive performance is that we scored 2 offensive touchdowns on the road after Texas kept us out of the end zone at home last year. Also, Oklahoma still has not scored even one touchdown in 2 games against Texas (3 points in 2024 and 6 points in 2025).

Defense: we allowed 285 total yards (128 passing and 157 rushing) and 24 points to Texas in the 2nd half after holding them to 112 total yards (51 passing and 61 rushing) and 3 points in the 1st half. This was the opposite of last year when we shutout Texas in the 2nd half and returned an interception 93 yards for a touchdown for our only score after allowing 17 points in the 1st half.

Special teams: Jared Zirkel made 1/2 field goals because of a blocked 35-yard field goal by Texas. If we had made that field goal, we would have had a 13-3 halftime lead and trailed 27-20 with 7:04 left. That would have given us a chance to tie the game and force overtime.

Yeah, I remember fondly that 1-15 Dallas Cowboys team that beat its rival Washington. What a successful season!

You obviously don't get college football. The pro game is probably more suited for your thought process.
