Until they screw it up...they haven't been able to give us credit for tu on schedule yet. Now our strength of record and schedule only got better after that game right? Already ahead of other one loss teams like Oregon and Tech and now that spread is even bigger right? Or am i thinking of this wrong.

I'm not here to defend the committee, but what a mess they have on their hands with the Ole Miss situation. How do you seed the Rebs knowing that their coach is likely leaving and taking a lot of the players with him?

Our strength of record already better than most. Strength of schedule has to go up right? While we played fringe playoff top 15 team other one loss teams played nobody.

Our strength of schedule (in the one committee uses) was 100 before Friday. We won't move ahead of Oregon on that metric

Until it isn't puffed like cigar smoke from a non-transparent committee, assume it's exactly what it appears to be???

Then same metric would have Oregon 130? I mean, how can you play with numbers on something like that to such a degree? Oregon did not play tougher schedule than ND, LSU, Missouri, Texas...
I wont mention other things like the team Tech lost to is in the bottom of our league and beat one of the better teams in the big xii. Should have beaten committee darling texas.
One loss SEC team is always greater than 1 loss from other conferences.
Give me a break.

I put this on another thread, but it feels like Ole Miss should fall in the ratings without Kiffin. It's the same as if they had a Heisman Trophy candidate QB or RB get hurt and know he wouldn't be playing in the post-season. If Kiffin is the wizard coach of all time, then Ole Miss without him is worse than with him.

Where can we find this info? The committee is as non-transparent as they can possibly be about every single thing they do. I find it hard to believe they'd publish the SoS they're using, but keep everything else a secret.

They don't publish it, but there is a guy on twitter that has predicted rankings each week and has apparently "cracked the code" based on criteria announced back in 2014

They are handed a list of metrics. And those metrics have our SOS far below the teams we are compared to. I think it's a terrible metric, but they are using it regardless of my thoughts

Makes sense now if they have some super secret formula that we can't see.

They're awful rankings but they're the rankings. And all of the dumb things they've done actually "make sense" when you understand they are using flawed methodology.

My only point has been we should amplify and criticize the methodology rather than throwing our hands up and screaming this makes no sense.

Bartoo and crew are analytics guys and they take a very hands off approach when reporting the committee numbers. I think that's wrong and they should be using their platform to criticize the committee methodology. They know full well it's a dumb way to calculate SOS.

But ... they have an analytics business and they're to the point now where ADs are paying them to provide insights on things like coaching searches. So they aren't going to make a stink because committee members are potential clients.

Strength of record we are #3 after the loss. We are also 8th in game control.

We might not fall that far, it possible we are 5 or 6.

If you're mad now, I bet you'd be thrilled to learn that the committee's SOS formula is basically comprised of two components: record of opponents and record of opponent's opponents. That's it. That's the formula.

This is what I figured would happen. There aren't many other teams with one loss or less. It was really just a question of whether it would drop to 3, 4, 5, or 6. Good to see it's still at 3.

I do think our SOS, even under the committee's ridiculous metric, will go up quite a bit having now played Texas. I'm really holding out hope for being ranked 6 tomorrow.

Out strength of schedule is top 20, anything less is fabricated and agenda driven.
