What is very problematical is the gutting of the staff. Plus possible players in the portal, too. According to the current reporting, Kiffin seems hell bent on burning down the Ole Miss program as his parting gift.
The Committee will have to take the extent of the damage into account somehow because what Ole Miss did during the season will no longer be applicable to the team currently.

They'll do what the spreadsheet says to do. I doubt there is a field called "head coach still there?"

Kiffin is a strange guy but he is not stupid. Leaving Ole Miss before the playoff would be disastrous for his reputation in many ways including recruiting.

however if both Virginia (11-2) and Miami (10-2) make the playoff...
could UVA end up as the #10 since they would have won the ACC?
the same league that Miami plays in

That this conversation is occurring is a deeply problematic harbinger for the health of the sport. And I don't men eyes on screens or money changing hands. I mean the pure enjoyment of the sport for the sake of the sport. Like so much of American (I recognize it's not isolated) culture, nothing matters but the money. The product on the field is most valued for just that, being a monetizing product. The headline stories have become very NBA-ish. The drama and politicking is more popular than the disciplined and meticulous organization of teamwork, gamesmanship, out leveraging, strategy , and camaraderie.

I think they should be judged on their record and whether Kiffin is there or not should not be a factor.

if Duke wins...Miami would definitely by the #10
if the committee doesn't recognize the head-to-head result this week...it may not happen at all
they love ND's "game control" and such

Just looked at the Coaches Poll. Both ND and Miami are 10-2. But ND still ranked ahead of Miami despite the head to head. That's just goofy as hell to me.

I just can't see any way around it, if Kiffin decimates the team and staff on his way out of the door. And flip the question. Would it be fair to Ole Miss to keep them in and force them to play a good team that is completely intact and not in disarray?

What is your opinion on Kiffin contacting other coaches and players under NIL and either offering/pressuring them to move to LSU with respect to tort. interference issues? It would be a state tort and LSU wouldn't necessarily have immunity in Miss.
