As for Kiffin, it was the AD that demanded an answer earlier than needed. It's the AD that's demanding that Kiffin vacate the premises before the season is over. His over reaction will likely derail a historic season for Ole Miss. I don't like Kiffin, I hate LSU and hope it goes poorly for both. But I don't see why the AD is wrecking the season just because he's butt hurt.

Honestly how do you think a coach should change schools with all the new transfer portal dates and the early signing day? Add in the playoff going til mid January. I mean I was pissed that Schloss left but at least he finished the season. Would either of the programs wanted to wait till January to make this decision?

The NCAA should put a stop to coach tampering just like they would to player tampering mid-season. It's just ridiculous. No coaching moves before the season is over.

i don't recall all the details but back in 1989 michigan won the natty in basketball with an interim coach named steve fischer. i was pretty young but it seems fairly similar to this scenario.

There was a contingent on Tigerdroppings that was dead-set on the Lane Train, but I think there were probably just as excited about screwing over Ole Miss.

Those 2 conference championships were from Conference USA with Florida Atlantic.

His NIL budget is only $25 million. I wouldn't trust their AD to be able to balance a checkbook. There is no such thing as a hometown discount anymore either.

Well, word is Schloss was recruiting for tu as far back as March and the players learned of him leaving before the final game, having a major effect on the outcome. Saying he finished the season is kind of a half truth.

This is absolutely the case with Schloss recruiting (through player agents) to lure and retain longhorn players while still coaching the Ags. I hadn't heard about the Aggie players knowing about his departure but nothing would shock me.

Are old miss fans deluding themselves into thinking they are actually better off without Kiffin?

This is much worse because Jim Schlossnagle left after the world series ended, but Lane Kiffin is ditching his team after leading them to 11 regular season wins and a CFP appearance for the first time ever.
