The loss sucks and hopefully it motivates the team like OSU losing last year to MI, but it let tu have false hopes and only to get their imaginary spot in the CFP removed.

The loss allowed Archie and Sarky to plea their case so that if OK, Miami,Vandy, ND or Oregon lost maybe just maybe the sips would get a seat. Herby, Finebaum and even Saban were suggesting it was not fair to be punished for playing OH State.

Then one door after the other slammed shut and now the Manning Media Machine is being shut down until next year. Warby Parker and Vuori may as well hire the bud light advertising genius.

The season and the last hope went down the old Cooper pooper.

They're not being punished for playing to tosu. They're being punished for losing to a really terrible Florida team.

But... but... but if they had played Kennesaw State instead of Ohio State, they would be 10-2, and everyone would insist they be in the playoff, so leaving them out means people shouldn't schedule real opponents.

Put their resume on any other team, and no one would be saying they should be in the playoffs. Love that it appears outside of only a select few, no one is really entertaining the idea that sip should be in the playoffs.

If Texas doesn't get into the playoff I think they should cancel future games against Ohio State, Michigan, Notre Dame and anyone else that has the potential to start the season in the top 25.

Of course the opposite of the srgument, you could fill up all the ooc games with tosu, oregon, Miami, notre dame and lose them all and not expect to be punished

Even if they dont, they should.

Tech, Indiana, Oregon all are benefitting from beating 4 cupcakes

I don't know that they would. It would be close.
Of all the 2 loss teams, they'd still have the worst loss, not to mention the ding they'd also get on SOS if the OhSt slot was replaced by a cupcake

You need to win games. Looking at it another way Ohio State is being rewarded for beating tu early in the season.

I imagine tu admin is doing all it can to build the case that Ol' Miss without LK is a clustertruck. You, the committee should drop Ol'e Miss just like you did FSU a couple of years ago. After all most of the coaching staff is going with LK.

Oh And you should pick US because we have 3 wins and Archie, and we'll get you lots of commercial $$. Did we tell you that not only will you get to see Cooper, but Probably the other Disgruntled Ol' Miss legends in Archie & Eli. We can even get Peyton to the game.

As well as the four touchdown beatdown Georgia put on them.

Not convinced that tu is out. They bring a lot of eyeballs to their games, and if it is even remotely possible the committee will find a way to get them in.

But all ya'll should stop talking trash about them. The've curb-stomped our team twice in a row. Beat them some time, and then you can crow.

The horns have the best resume of the 3 loss teams, unfortunately there is a logjam of 2 loss team in front of them and most of them won on Saturday.

If tu gets in because of tv viewership then just get of the committee altogether and make the playoffs the 12 teams with the highest viewership that season. Just burn this stupid **** to the ground.

The A&M, OU, and Vandy wins would probably be sufficient to make up for the ding on the SOS, all of which are better than any of ND's wins.

Texas has made its bed with the scheduling and now gets to lie in it.

I suspect it will be not as ambitious after the currently scheduled OOC games transpire.

Some of us have been around to see us beat them plenty, and don't buy into this beta mentality "they own us" nonsense.
And we don't tend to talk a lot of trash in general, because talking noise is kinda stupid, really.

The ups and downs are cyclical, and every program has them.
Unfortunately for us, timing wise, when they had their last down cycle we weren't playing them at all.

And they were able to fix things and trend back up before they hit our schedule again.
And again, timing wise, it happened while we were in a weird in-between place with a new 1st year HC after moving on from Jimbo

If anyone argues for Texas to be in, ask a simple question: who are you taking out?

You can't just add Texas. You have to take a team out. Who's that going to be?
Faustus

Texas isn't in. Not even close.

It's crazy how close 3 loss Bama was last year, but this year they'd be even further back than Texas.

Texas is completely out. Cannot believe some people still think they might get in. They would have to be #10 to get in, since 11 and 12 will be conf champs. Who are they bumping out of the current top 10, not to mention leapfrogging all the other 2 loss teams still in front of them, who all won their games this week.

I don't see a team that makes sense to leave out for tu right now. OU maybe, but I can't imagine they drop that far to allow the horns in

They're lucky they faced OU's QB when he was injured. Lucky that A&M was missing RB Moss. And I won't give Reed the benefit of being injured some, since he's always hot & cold.

This was the last year Sips have an easy SEC schedule. And, Notre Dame would've beat Sips by 20 points in week 1 or 2. Arch was throwing grounders to open WRs.

This is one has me just a little conflicted. On one hand it's fun to see them on the outside looking in.

Good on them for scheduling Ohio st on the road, but committee has now made it perfectly clear of you don't win it hurts a lot.
All of the sec teams should take note with 9 conference games on the schedule. It's a gauntlet everyone is an injury, bad call, fluke play, away from losing every week.
If I was our brass, I would take note and probably be cautious in non-con scheduling moving forward.

A&M played 7 of the bottom 9 teams in the SEC by conference record and Texas played 4 SEC teams that finished the regular season in the Top 12 nationally (giving them 3 of their 6 total losses).

That may have been the common wisdom before the season but it didn't play out that way.

What's the alternative? For the result not to matter? That's called an exhibition game. I don't follow the argument that winning and losing games should not matter.

When the selection criteria the Committee uses changes from year to year, hard to make those scheduling decisions far in advance. This was the year wherein the Committee was supposed to pay more attention to strength of schedule, so in theory a close loss (or win for that matter) would be a subject of much discussion.

Have yet to see much evidence of that thus far.

They get no credit for that OhSt game and how they're trying to leverage it.
That thing was scheduled 5+ years ago when they were still in the BDF, and knew they needed it

Sark only talks about the sips' good wins but not about their bad losses, or struggle bus wins against SEC bottom feeders in overtime. If the committee let's them in the playoffs, im ****ing done with this sport.

Flip side of the coin. If we hadn't played and won against Notre Dame, we wouldn't be seeded as high as we are. Playing AND WINNING big games matters. Just don't lose to teams with losing records.

I wasn't ****ing on A&M's schedule as much as pointing out the fallacy of the poster saying Texas had an easy SEC sked.

It's been a fantastic year for A&M and I'm jealous of y'all heading into the playoffs. Last year was so much as a Texas fan. Shades of March madness collecting wins into the postseason.

I'd say I wish you all luck but really I hope it's one and done.
