All year we've been the most physical team in the second half. Against sip we seemed to be playing too conservative on offense and on defense we couldn't get stops. Case of the nerves? Or something else??

Our defense was certainly not physical vs Arkansas in either half. Offense barely had more good halves than bad this season if points is the goal.

Yep, that's the same game I saw.
We did not look aggressive on either side of the ball.

We lost with the thought Ohio State is going to roll Indiana. Instead of potentially losing the SEC championship game the same day and staying below IU, we get it out of the way early. Then, when IU loses, they'll fall below us, and we're back in the Top 4 with a bye. Strategery.

1. One data point with plenty of other to counter it. We played a bad game and you are judging us completely on that one game.
2. They were never bad on the DL and at WR and RB. Their DL got pressure on Marcel. He made some crazy good throws in the first half. Second half he started pressing. Their QB had one crazy good throw coupled with a ridiculous catch. Other than that, he was as advertised.. incredibly mediocre. He beat us with his feet. And when you see that our LB's were out in coverage, it becomes pretty clear that we were out schemed in that facet. It's not that we weren't respecting the QB run. It's that Sark was able to pull our guys away and Manning made good choices to pull the trigger. Tip of the cap. We never truly tested their secondary or LB's, which is another scheme issue. We should have had wheels and TE seams all night. Their coaches beat us. Which sucks. But Elko can get a wake up call too. He's pretty damned good at adjusting.
3. Klein came out passing to setup the run. This makes sense given their strength is the DL. Problem is, he never got the run going even when we were successful passing. Second problem was the route tree was fairly vanilla. Sips schemed well against what we put on tape. And we didn't do anything that night unsuspected. Again, out-schemed.
4. Yes. Reed was pressing. He even said so in this presser. He felt like they had to push the ball. And he's not exactly wrong. He was actually fine until then. Multiple WR's had crucial drops yet again. That's something that worries me.
5. Owens has always gone down on first contact. It's rare for him to break even a shoe string. But that night was different. He couldn't keep his footing. Not sure if the turf, the shoes, or just jittery. But that was a prime example of why Moss is so important and not having him hurts us.
6. Our kickers suck.
7. For the first time all year. Again.. they schemed us well. We didn't try anything they hadn't already seen. We didn't do near enough RPO against their backup LB's. Coaches **** the bed.
8. I won't even say lack of big defensive plays. It was the 3-4 big plays they gave up.
9. The false starts in game 12 are inexcusable. Can't do that and expect to win. The offsides was also bad. But I'll give Cashius a little slack as he was doubled all night and has been money all season. That was not a systemic problem. Just a singular mistake.
10. Reed was fine. The scheme didn't help him. The playcalling was predictable. Klein didn't try and attack their weakness. Then Reed started pressing at the end. But he's had MULTIPLE late comeback drives. It's not like this is just who he is. It didn't work this time. But he's fully capable.
Stars matter. Outside of maybe LSU no other team we've played this season has the athletes that tu does. They aren't as bad as their record. We aren't as good as our record.

Team was outcoached and outplayed. Second half was a beatdown. Incomprehensible, all of it.

Defense got into some of their bad habits from Arkie and first half of SCAR as well. Trying to play hero instead of just doing their job.

Yeah I know we're headed to the playoffs but I think people are way too quick to overlook that. It's going to continue to be an issue I'm afraid.

More so, CK has the issue. 0-2 at KSU and 0-2 with us, it seems they have him figured out.

I thought it would take 30 points to win and that didn't seem like an impossibility for our offense.
Thought we played way too conservative on defense. We played Manning by trying to get coverage sacks with dropping everyone back, even our pass rushers. We should have send an army after him and forces mistakes. Can't coverage sack a QB that has huge running lanes after having no one open.TMF said:
