If the favorites win their respective conference championship Games, I am predicting the following seeds.

1. Ohio State
2. Georgia
3. Indiana (ranked above Big 12 Champion Texas Tech to prevent a rematch with Oregon in the quarterfinals)
4. Texas Tech
5. Oregon
6. Texas A&M
7. Ole Miss
8. Oklahoma
9. Notre Dame
10. Alabama
11. Virginia
12. North Texas

AGREE.

This is most likely if "chalk holds" and all favorites in the conference championships win. Allows slight penalty to Ole Miss by dropping them below us as the lowest ranked 1-loss team (while NOT penalizing the school TOO MUCH for the Layne Kiffen debacle and allowing them to still host a playoff game in Oxford) prevents that Oregon-Indiana rematch in quarterfinals, ALLOWS a SEC "elimination game" in first round between two SEC teams that did not meet in the regular season, Bama and Ole Miss.

Well done.

Now... if BYU wins - I assume you have them replace Bama (out with three losses - though seems unfair to penalize them for making it to the SEC Championship Game - because if they did not play that extra game then they would only have 2 losses) into the 10 slot?

How far down does Texas Tech fall with their second loss? Does Oregon move to thr 4 slot - giving BIG Ten 3 of the 4 byes? Or do we allow Aggies to jump to the 4 slot?

I guarantee that the committee would LOVE to see all the favorites win this coming weekend to avoid this headache...

No way they give the BIG 3 Byes by dropping tech down and moving Oregon up

If they just swap Tech and Oregon at 4 and 5, I wouldn't be surprised. They are unlikely to move us up to four.

So, you think they keep 11-2 Tech at #4 above the 11-1 teams if BYU wins the Big XII Championship game?

Or perhaps move up ONE of the 11-1 teams into that #4 slot?

Agree - which is one way we might get a bye after all, to avoid three teams from the BIG Ten getting byes.

Have they announced the game slots for the first round? Like which matchup plays in each time slot? I'd assume the 8/9 would be prime time (6:30 Sat). In the same logic, the 5/12 and 6/11 would be Friday night and the 11A game Saturday. Leaving the 7/10 for the mid afternoon slot Saturday.

1. Osu
2. Uga
3. Iu
4. Tech
5. Oregon
6. Tamu
7. Ole miss
8. Ou
9. Nd
10. Bama
11. Virginia
12. Tulane

They swap us with Ole miss for match up purposes. Same with bama and ND.

**I could also see the committee being complete *****es and swapping Ole miss for Miami because of hoe like they did with Florida St. Miami v bama would bring more eye balls anyway and it would solve their miami beat Notre dame problem

I also think bama and byu could pull out an upset.

In that case:

1. Osu
2. Iu
3. Uga
4. Oregon
5. Tamu
6. Ou
7. Tech
8. Bama
9. Byu
10. Nd
11. Virginia
12. Tulane

They shoukd kill the SEC championship game, since those 2 teams are in regardless every year. It didn't exist before 1992.
