If the favorites win their respective conference championship Games, I am predicting the following seeds.
1. Ohio State
2. Georgia
3. Indiana (ranked above Big 12 Champion Texas Tech to prevent a rematch with Oregon in the quarterfinals)
4. Texas Tech
5. Oregon
6. Texas A&M
7. Ole Miss
8. Oklahoma
9. Notre Dame
10. Alabama
11. Virginia
12. North Texas
AGREE.
This is most likely if "chalk holds" and all favorites in the conference championships win. Allows slight penalty to Ole Miss by dropping them below us as the lowest ranked 1-loss team (while NOT penalizing the school TOO MUCH for the Layne Kiffen debacle and allowing them to still host a playoff game in Oxford) prevents that Oregon-Indiana rematch in quarterfinals, ALLOWS a SEC "elimination game" in first round between two SEC teams that did not meet in the regular season, Bama and Ole Miss.
Well done.
Now... if BYU wins - I assume you have them replace Bama (out with three losses - though seems unfair to penalize them for making it to the SEC Championship Game - because if they did not play that extra game then they would only have 2 losses) into the 10 slot?
How far down does Texas Tech fall with their second loss? Does Oregon move to thr 4 slot - giving BIG Ten 3 of the 4 byes? Or do we allow Aggies to jump to the 4 slot?
I guarantee that the committee would LOVE to see all the favorites win this coming weekend to avoid this headache...
