Committee has recency bias and only remember the sip game where we lost, scored less than our average and less than sip defense average, and allowed sips first 100 yard rusher. They also penalized us for Klein.

I feel like the committee moved Bama to 9 so that if they lose to UGA they just flip Notre Dame and Bama 9/10 so they can keep the narrative that making and losing the conference championship won't hurt you as much. They also keep two huge markets in Notre Dame and Bama in the playoff.
But there's always a scenario where BYU wins then one of Bama and Notre Dame would have to be kicked out. As BYU would be automatically in along with two other conference champions
If bama and byu both win, what would that do? Thats the question that no-one knows, and what would really make things shuffle more than any other scenario. It would give an excuse to move bama up, but how far? And where would BYU be then...? Clearly objective metrics are being used when it gets the desired matchups and ignored when it might get in the way. Both would be impressive wins, and would be enough to argue them moving up significantly. Just because we don't want that to happen doesnt mean that it wouldn't.
If the committee followed their own methodology, tech should fall out of the top 8 with 2 losses and BYU would move up. Bama would bump the Ags to 8.
OU and ND would be the big losers in this case with ND getting bumped out and OU moving to 9, (or probably lower), IMO.
Silly argument, Show definitive proof that a&m would drop to 8 or you aren't allowed to respond. You already said that a&m couldn't drop below 7. So back it up or ill call you an emotional woman.
Am I doing that right...?

So, we're all big byu fans this weekend? Is that the only way we move up?

No. Quite frankly we're Georgia fans. We need ND to move up 1 and we either get Bama, Miami, not sure anyone else could fall to 10

So there's no way we can move up and get the home field bye (Tulane/virginia)?

How did Alabama move up one spot past Notre Dame, after Alabama struggled with awful Auburn? So rigged.

You know who else struggled with an awful Auburn?

I just can't wrap my head around this. If anything, that should lump them in with the Tulane and JMU's of the world. Not prop them up. Also, what's the excuse for Oregon? They played one team with a pulse and lost…at home
Dude, at some point we have to actually win something. We've got the opportunity. If we don't seize it, we deserve to get no respect.Cromagnum said:

Yep, we **** the bed AGAIN and gave them fuel for the narrative... which we can't ever seem to change.
I thought we'd be 8-10. We got embarrassed by a 3 loss team that lost to Florida and had to go into overtime to beat Kentucky and Mississippi State.

We had to beat the sips and didnt.
Now we will have it as rough as possible
"Rough as possible" would have meant a 9-seed road game against OU then a matchup with OSU.
A 7-seed home game against a bama team that can't run with a matchup against, probably IU or UGA isn't that bad.

Have you seen our run defense? Especially against scar and Texas....2 of the worst run offenses in the conference?
Or if it stays ND they ran all over us once already
This 7 seed instead of 6 is a massive blow

Leaving ole miss without an offensive play caller above us is absolutely stupid. Oregon best win is USC

They ran 39 times for 136 yards against us. Stop making up bull*****

I'll give you some stats that I'm not making up. Our rush defense averages 111 yards per game.
So Texas was 12th in the sec in rush offense at 132 yards.
Scar is 15th and averages 111
As you pointed out Texas hit 136 so over their average and almost 20% more than our defense averaged
Scar rushed for 121 so again I er their average and above ours as well
That's just statistics and not bull***** Another way is to realize how many BIG runs we give up. We are one of the worst in the country at that. So it's not just the average yards per game it's how impactful the runs are.
Take it a step further just use the eyeball test. For example ..arch big 35 yard run for a TD...or his runs to get 1st downs on 3rd and long

Those are a lot of stats that have nothing to do with Notre Dame to avoid the direct stats we had vs ND when we played them in their house.
I'm not saying we'll replicate it should we play then again, but you made an absolutely false statement about ND running all over us the first time. You could have said "yeah I got that wrong but our run d has bee suspect ever since" and I'd have agreed with you
In 2024, 11-1 Texas dropped from 2 to 3 after losing the SEC CG to 10-2 Georgia (5) and 11-1 Penn State dropped from 3 to 4 after losing the Big Ten CG to 12-0 Oregon (1).Bunk Moreland said:Txhuntr said:barstoolexpert said:Txhuntr said:

No. As much as the committee should move tech behind us with a loss, they'll somehow argue losing a conference championship game for loss #2 isn't as penalizing as losing to a top#15 ranked rival on the road in the final game of the season for loss #1. Or they'll move BYU ahead of us.
They want the Ags vs ND matchup with Bama as the backup. And they also want Ole Miss getting a bone for losing Kiffin.

Stop *****ing. Do you know who was #7 last year? Notre Dame. They made it to the CFP final game by beating Indiana, Georgia and Penn State. It wasn't made easy for them. At some point you have to stop feeling sorry for yourself and go out and earn it.
