Bama is not dropping. They could jump OU and maybe us, but that'd just make us play OU instead of ND/BYU.

Neither are losing.

12 will be either Tulane or North Texas. The only way Miami gets into the CFP is if Alabama gets destroyed and BYU loses to Tech again.

James Madison is a long shot to get the 12 seed but that only happens if Duke somehow beats Virginia.

I would 100% be more confident about playing Ole Miss away than a home game against Notre Dame. Bring on the chaos.

I would think it would need to be a blow out for Indiana to move down. Not saying it won't happen, but I don't know if the committee would be willing to take the heat for moving a team down for losing a close game to the #1 team in the country.

I do wonder if that would create a big push for the abolition of conference championship games. Probably not, due to money.

IMO, the dumbass committee needs to set guidelines that championship games should not affect final rankings otherwise teams might "op out". Times are changing

The more I look at it unfortunately the more I feel like 7 is the right ranking for us. We have a relatively bad loss to the 13 team and only one ranked win. While Tech has a bad loss they also have 3 ranked wins in the eye of the committee. Oregon has a home loss to number 2 and two ranked wins even though I think Missouri could be swapped for Iowa. Ole Miss has 1 ranked win but a better loss to number 3 Georgia.

This. There's no conspiracy and the committee doesn't hate us. Losing to the sips really hurt our resume. But we're still getting credit for 11-1, and a first round game at Kyle is a nice consolation prize.

Many of you are looking at this wrong, you are looking at the rankings and not the bracket. There are five guaranteed spots and right now the SEC, Big Ten and big 12 claim 3 (though Technical at 4 is a joke). The other two, whomever they will be, will be the 11 and 12 seeds.

BYU is currently OUT of the CFP despite their ranking. If we want to move up we would want BYU to win, which would take Technical out of the top 4 and ND would be out of the CFP.

Cow has no chance or path to get in, neither does Miami given ND was put ahead of them and with neither playing this weekend that won't change.

Based on the rankings and the bracket, other than the two lowest ranked conference champs (ACC and G5) really only BYU is in a position to play their way in as a conference champ and that knocks ND out.

Even Duke winning the ACC wouldn't change the math, the ACC would be out and two G5 champs in.

We would host even if BYU and Bama won.

Which is sad. Their losses would be to ASU who Miss St beat and BYU. And their non conf was a joke.

I'm not sure Tech falls if they lose.
