Up to this point Elko has had equal amount of success, especially considering how bad sec east was in Smarts first two years and there after until 2024 when divisions were done away with. No one, outside of a handful of people, would have ever imagined an 11-1 season in Elkos second year. To say this season has been anything other than a huge success up to this point is ludicrous.

It cracks me up how so many continue to move the goal post. Ags are in the playoffs, let's see what this team does in the second season of 25 where its win or go home.

Great comparison between Smart and Elko! I had predicted 9-3 with a ceiling of 10-2, but Elko has exceeded that because of road wins over Notre Dame and LSU.

I would also mention Elko's 3 wins vs. Florida (24, 25) and Auburn (25)

while those schools have not been great the past 2 years, they are traditional SEC powers

plus winning in the Swamp is always a good win

am i happy with elko and 11 wins in Year 2?

checks aggies record over last 50 years and sees only two other seasons where we won 11 games. yeah i am happy with it but next year will be huge for us to arrive you have to do it consecutive years. once you build that momentum is can really get rolling. we hadn't had two great years in a row since the early 90's.

only issue I have is that I still have not seen us play our best football at the end of a season. I like the record this year, but it is nice to see a team get better each week and peak at the end.

Man this place gets more miserable by the day. We just had our best season since most of you have known what a first down is and still crying.

We were beaten by 10 and anybody that has actually watched this game for a long time knows it is rarely an easy win.

your scorecard is flawed. he had to win some meaningful games to even make the games you are counting meaningful.

If we had lost LSU, or Missouri, or ND you'd have called those "important games". All of those were far more meaningful than a random bowl against USC.

Basically, you're discounting games once we win them.

If you can't enjoy 11-1, you're probably going to be miserable most years.

Here's a strange fact: Smart also beat Notre Dame on the road in his second season. Kirby Smart did win the SEC in 2017 and beat Oklahoma in the Rose Bowl (playoff semifinal), but Elko has a chance to win a couple of playoff games to catch up.

****ing awesome. Not a single coach since rc would have finished 11-1 this season. We won many games this year weve lost 100s of time over previously.

Our roster is good, not great. Not a lot of NFL talent on this team unlike what tosu, uga and bama are playing with.

Elko is building a great thing. If you cant see that it's going to be a long 7 years

I see good progress in year 2. I don't see great talent Elko brought in or consistent dominant wins. Worse yet: unlike the rest of our games we came out ready to play against Texas in the first half avd disappeared in the second or maybe I should say second half was more like a Sherman/Sumlin/Jimbo second half.

This year is almost exactly like 2020. The inconsistent play against Vanderbilt and Carolina felt the same. The loss against Alabama and Texas were very disappointing. And we beat the other teams we were expected to beat.

So next does the committee keep us out again?
