That's what he paid to do. I have high confidence in him and hoping this turns out to be a net positive. Bit as you said, it'll gave to prove itself out and only time will tell. Almost feels like it could be a make or break point for the start of his legacy. Fingers crossed he's able to get who we wants, and who he wants is the right choice.90ags said:
Elko just signed extension and rec'd more money for asst coaches and has more control. He can totally decide and either hit a home run or mess up the hire. Only time will tell.

I hope we go after B illy Napier. This could be an awesome rebuild of his career for him. He is also a great recruiter and a person you want to have associated with your team.
He would be a home run hire.

Chip Kelly, Bobby Petrino, Billy Napier to name a few are all available and are proven to not only run good offenses but can run a team. I wouldn't mind someone that has some skins to challenge Elko when he gets too conservative offensively.
Also just becuase they are failed as HC doesn't mean they can't run a good offense. KK for example.
Chip Kelly just got fired for being an awful OC

I'm not one of these fans that says "trust the coach" no matter what but I think its safe to say Elko has information and intel on Wiggins that we don't and he thinks he can get it done. Elko wants to win badly here. He's not going to hire a guy he is doubtful on.

I'm ok with Wiggins if Elko thinks he's ready for the OC position. He was listed as Co-Coordinator under Klein and he was an Assistant HC/WR under Saban at Bama. And he's done a phenomenal job with our WRs the last two years.
We should not be a learn on the job type program. Elko needs to conduct a nationwide search to find the best possible OC that has a record of success. That is what elite programs do.

Being a head coach is the literal definition of head coaching experience. Whether or not it was a sufficient amount is debatable.
