If Wiggins has the cahones to run the ball on 3rd & 1 rather than pass, I'm willing to give him a chance.

Wildcat with Moss in the backfield. Lets go!

"Maybe losing to Texas is a bigger deal than Trev thinks"

Coming from Nebraska I would think Trev is completely aware what "losing to Texas" means...

Elko just signed extension and rec'd more money for asst coaches and has more control. He can totally decide and either hit a home run or mess up the hire. Only time will tell.
That's what he paid to do. I have high confidence in him and hoping this turns out to be a net positive. Bit as you said, it'll gave to prove itself out and only time will tell. Almost feels like it could be a make or break point for the start of his legacy. Fingers crossed he's able to get who we wants, and who he wants is the right choice.

As long as it's not straight up the gut into a stacked line, let's go

I hope we go after B illy Napier. This could be an awesome rebuild of his career for him. He is also a great recruiter and a person you want to have associated with your team.

He would be a home run hire.

Agree, he would also be able to recruit Louisiana and Florida even though he didnt pan out as a HC im sure he has built some relationships out there.

Best of all we know he can beat t.u. something Elko has yet to do.

Just go get Chip Kelly and buy him any player he wants in the portal.

Don't overthink this

Chip Kelly, Bobby Petrino, Billy Napier to name a few are all available and are proven to not only run good offenses but can run a team. I wouldn't mind someone that has some skins to challenge Elko when he gets too conservative offensively.

Also just becuase they are failed as HC doesn't mean they can't run a good offense. KK for example.

Chip Kelly just got fired for being an awful OC

In his defense, the raiders rosters is dog water.

I'm not one of these fans that says "trust the coach" no matter what but I think its safe to say Elko has information and intel on Wiggins that we don't and he thinks he can get it done. Elko wants to win badly here. He's not going to hire a guy he is doubtful on.

I think you just made a great case for "trusting the coach"!

Hartline was a WR coach at Oh St for quite a while until finally being promoted to play calling duties this year. I'll trust Mike Elko, who has a certain plan and culture in mind for his football program. If he feels like someone currently on his staff has worked around enough OC's to call plays I'm good with it. He will know Reeds strengths and weaknesses as well so there will be less "growing pains". Of course, for every time it works sometimes it does not work. It's a risk either way.

I'm ok with Wiggins if Elko thinks he's ready for the OC position. He was listed as Co-Coordinator under Klein and he was an Assistant HC/WR under Saban at Bama. And he's done a phenomenal job with our WRs the last two years.

We should not be a learn on the job type program. Elko needs to conduct a nationwide search to find the best possible OC that has a record of success. That is what elite programs do.

Brian Hartline
Dan Lanning
Kirby Smart
Dabo Swinney
Collin Klein (at K-State, literally did exactly what Wiggins did)

Shall I continue?

There will be ups and downs but for all you know Wiggins could be the next big thing. Just because you have no proof of concept and that makes you uneasy, doesn't make it a bad hire

Does Wiggins play Madden or NCAA 26? If so, he'll do fine.

Being a head coach is the literal definition of head coaching experience. Whether or not it was a sufficient amount is debatable.

No, experience and "title/job description" are not equivalent.

I've known many who were made Manager and VPs, but had absolutely no experience; and some had experience, but it was the same year of experience over and over. Just because someone calls you a genius doesn't make you one in matter of fact.
