How does Tenn have a better class than us?
Because recruiting rankings are about stars and numbers while football teams are about starters and depth and results.
Half their recruiting class is really good (2) 5*, (14) 4*s. Then they have (11) 3 stars.
We have (1) 5*, (23) 4*s, but only (2) 3*s. One being a kicker.
We're a much better quality class top to bottom. It's why our class average ranking is #5 (92.10) overall and Tenn is way down at #10 at (91.51 average)
It's subjective. But in theory our 24 blue chippers to their 16 should be a more complete class and go lot farther in as a core to a team down the road.
Only LSU and Bama had higher class rankings based on average. With LSU only having 14 players sign so far. It's a really top end class, just only half of one.
Bama is Bama.
One could argue we have the 3rd best SEC class and continue to stack very similar quality top 10 classes to continue to build. And then there is the transfer portal which we've done a great job of as well.
