So on one hand we need a "top 5" recruiting class every year to have a chance, but on the other HS recruiting doesn't even matter.

The 3 grand slams in the portal (Howell, Concepcion, and Craver) tell an amazing story. Bussey is a 5 star and he was our best returning receiver, making great progress...and was our #4 option this year. Pure and simple, we are in the playoffs because of the portal. That said, Bussey is still a phenomenal talent and I hope he comes back. Morrow is another one. You just can't expect to play as a freshman in the SEC when you have allof the lower level upper classmen cycling up from the lower tier teams.
