I might be in the minority, but I want no part of ND. I don't care if we beat them earlier this year, they are a good football team. Like Mad Dog said yesterday...it is hard to beat a good team twice in a season.

Bama would jump us
BYU would jump us
Tech would not drop below us
Georgia would not drop below us

I could definitely see this as the scenario if BYU wins. I could also see them coming to Kyle. Never know with the idiots on CFP committee.

BYU would the have 1 good win on neutral field. versus our good road win. Then the rest of our schedule is way more difficult than BYU's, and BYU lost by 30 points to Tech in an absolute humiliating blowout.Logos Stick said:
BYU will not jump us.
Unless beat them there. Not that I can imagine a BYU team jumping us who lost by 30 points to Tech a month ago. Lolpinche gringo said:Bag said:

It would be the perfect, most Aggie of all endings to this season
You're free to mock us cynics, but a committee that upsets its backers doesn't last long.barstoolexpert said:
In this scenario, I'd say yes vs Ole Miss. But my understanding is CFP gets a lot of the ticket revenue so maybe they swap us with Ole Miss to give us the home game cause $$$

I agree with your scenario. On the other hand, if BYU loses, they are out. If Bama loses, they also are out. CCG is not a check valve. You can't have the possibility to move up without the possibility of moving down. If they both lose, we play ND at home, and Miami gets in.
Except no team is "already in." They haven't sent out invites. And that's an issue. It's only a matter of time before a team gets punished for playing (losing) a ccg. If BYU gets smoked again by Tceh, does the committee "keep them in" to preserve the esteem of ccg's they have no loyalty to?Who?mikejones! said:HikesNH said:

This is simply inaccurate. No team already in the playoffs will be left out from a ccg loss.

How does the does the playoff rankings fall out since CCG losses aren't supposed to hurt you

Yeah, they must join a conference.
If uga and byu win, then notre dame is likely headed to the curb.
You'd have
Osu
Iu
Uga
Oregon
Ole miss
Tamu
Ou
Tech
Byu
Bama
Virginia
Tulane
Dame would be left iut because they didn't have a conference championship game to play in

Kev Miller- you're absolutely wrong that Tech losing to the #11 team could not drop them back 4 places. That's like saying it was a foregone conclusion that Oregon, Ole Miss, and A&M would have lost to BYU also.
Which is complete bullcrap in the real world.
The Committee does not exist only to rubber stamp the winners ahead of the losers but keep the losers in exactly the same order otherwise. Doesn't work that way. All they indicated is that the extra game would not cost a team a spot in the playoffs, NOT their spot in the "order".

Of course. Georgia is 11-1 and bama is 10-2.
Thats my point. The committee has no structural loyalty to ccgs, but having signaled that 11-1 BYU was a top12 team; IF they now exclude an 11-2 BYU the message is clear that ccg's are a playoff liability.BMX Bandit said:Quote:

They aren't currently in. Why would they "keep" them anywhere but out if they lose?
