I don't understand companies knowingly irritating a large majority of customers?!?
Horns are a national brand, A&M is a regional brand. Just the way it is
This isn't necessarily true. While obviously not everyone in the country can recite the E. King Gill story or the history of yell practice, many -- and I dare say as many who know where t.u. is located -- recognize the A&M brands like the Corps and the band. And A&M's former student base is and has been growing at a faster (maybe much faster) pace in recent years. Those folks aren't staying solely in Texas and the Southwest.
Saying the sips are a national brand while A&M isn't is a little like saying some nobody is now a public figure because Time Magazine put them on their front cover. Well, maybe they are after the mag but they weren't before. The branding isn't based on t.u. as much as the efforts of third parties, including these advertisers.
