I don't want to play Notre Dame. They will run all over us.

I think we match up with the Tide better (though my confidence is waning after tsip game).

Bama will be coming off a physical battle with Georgia. Makes them an easier out than a well rested ND team.

So I think what helps us is the playoff bracket staying close to the same as it is now, except Bama falls behind ND...Bama would just move down one spot. To that end, I'm rooting for Tech and Georgia today....and for neither game to be a blowout so that neither BYU or Bama freefall.
A&M....give us room!

Bama does not scare me at all. ND on the other hand….

You're assuming the POS Committee won't replace Bama with sips just so they can put sips in College Station.

Agreed. And I think this is the most likely scenario if all the games pan out as expected

I'd take OU over Bama. OU easily has the least dynamic offense out of the current field. Bama can at least get things going throwing the ball.

Would like ou, but unless bama beats GA were getting ND.

Herbstreit really thought they might flip Miami & ND if BYU lost because H2H matters once the teams are ranked next to each other.

With BYU losing, there's only spot for 1 of ND or Miami.

50/50 in that scenario, bc that'd mean Bama/Ou and A&M/ND are rematches again which seems stupid.

I could see if Bama wins, they move Bama ahead of Ole Miss to prevent Bama from having to host ND even if it'd get eyeballs.

How will the commission knuckleheads justify putting in Notre Dame over Miami since Miami beat Notre Dame and are both 10-2 with similar strength of schedules ?

I doubt it. With BYU getting smoked, no way they don't get dropped at least one spot, which puts ND and Miami next to each other. If Bama wins, they jump us and we don't play the #10 seed. If Bama loses, the committee has two options: 1) Keep Bama at #9 despite a loss and put themselves in the position of being forced to acknowledge ND/Miami head to head or 2) drop Bama to #10 and bump ND to #9, which allows them to avoid addressing the ND/Miami head to head.

Committee has shown they want ND in the next playoff. Option 1 gives them at least a defensible position to do so.

If it comes down to Miami vs ND for that last spot they need to give it to Miami. The head to head win should matter if the selection committee wants to retain any credibility. I know ND brings in the $$ with their following but this is the time to punish them for their lack of scheduling quality teams, and for losing to the couple they did play.

I don't understand the fear vs. a ND team that has the 42nd SOS...their soft schedule will hurt them against a power conference road environment.

I don't think Bama is intimidated by Kyle Field

You don't think Bama drops to 10 should they lose and that was reason committee moved Bama up to 9 last week to drop them to 10 w/ SEC CG loss?

Because the committee thinks that if Notre Dame & Miami played, that Notre Dame would win. Nevermind that game already happened, what matters is what a bunch of nerds in a conference room THINK.

what will be funnier,
How with they justify ranking ND over Miami until the final rankings,
and then vault Miami over ND, despite both being neutral

You must not have been watching games these last few weeks. ND has looked better and better each week since we last played (sure, against lesser competition). Bama has looked worse and and worse. ND has not one, but two elite running backs (one likely to be a Heisman contender). Bama can't run the ball to save their life. It's less about who has better big road game experience than it is who we match up better with on the field.

They moved them to 9 in case of a BYU win and Bama loss, there wouldn't be a risk of Alabama being the one that dropped out, instead that would be ND. But now that BYU has lost, they can put Bama back at 10 with a loss.

We will play Alabama at home and they will somehow have the best day running the ball they have had all season. Game will be close. I think we win but we have not been playing good lately outside of the crazy 2nd half comeback against SCar which we should not have had to do.

That was meant as sarcasm 97.
Since we have a very weak run defense it doesn't matter if the other team has a weak running game.
We'll make them look good running the rock
