In a just world, A&M would be 5, but I, for one, am okay with hosting Miami. Don't care to play Bama only because I don't want to play a conference opponent in the 1st round - even though I think A&M matches up with Bama better than Miami.

Then you should want to play bama. The name of the game is to win.

Do you all think we flip with Ole Miss to avoid the rematches of Ole Miss & Tulane and A&M vs ND?

Don't see it happening. We will be 7 playing bama first round

Oregon SOS and SOR are equivalent to ours.

Oregon's schedule is an absolute joke. There 2 FBS OOC opponents have 3 wins between them.

As of last week,

SOR: A&M 3, Oregon 4
SOS: A&M 16, Oregon 17

Turns out our schedule is only marginally better. And our loss is much worse than theirs.

Our loss was on the road. Their loss was at home. 'Much worse' is not accurate. It is a very close call. And our best win is definitely better than theirs.

iMO they are ranked above us mainly because they lost earlier in the season than we did.

We would have to hop either Oregon or Ole Miss.

That would require the committee to follow either of their own rules:

That SOS and SOR are the primary data points

OR

That the loss of players or coaches are taken into consideration.

They are going to have to lie about both.

And they will.

But what if we get 6 sex?

Peaked too soon. Gonna be 1 and done, regardless of host. Kicking game is a bad problem to have, among others. JMO

What media is on our side besides Texags? If you haven't noticed, A&M football gets no respect year in and year out.

Here are the reasons they might move us to number six.

Not have rematches in the first round. Such as Ole Miss, Tulane or OU Alabama or A&M Notre Dame. Move us to six and you can get rid of all these rematches.

Also moving us to six if they put Texas Tech at three would pair us up for a Cotton bowl quarterfinal game.

These are actually good reasons that the committee might do it.

Aggie bias aside… they should do it. Those would be better matchups for TV

They are ahead of us in both of these data points used by the committee.

Don't expect the committee to do anything to help A&M.
Regardless of what is right or logical.

I have already secured an appointment with my BAS shrink on Monday morning. Got off my meds Thursday morning and then sip happened.

My buddy from Tuscaloosa has reserved the slot after me.

I posted this in another thread but this tells you all you need to know on how the media sees the Aggies.

This is from CBS sports last night on their expected final rankings. A&M isn't moving up.

Quote:

6. Ole Miss: Not only did losing Lane Kiffin not affect the Rebels' standing, but the committee boosted Ole Miss last week after routing Mississippi State on the road to finish 11-1. The promotion of Pete Golding to head coach coupled with Charlie Weis Jr. returning to Oxford to call plays for a postseason run strengthened the committee's opinion of Ole Miss, though we didn't hear that publicly. Trinidad Chambliss and the Rebels will get a first-round home game with a chance to move on to the quarterfinals as a betting favorite.

Quote:

7. Texas A&M: After sliding behind Ole Miss last week, the Aggies will be at home in the first round as a one-loss SEC selection from the at-large group. Texas A&M squandered an opening-round bye opportunity in the finale at Texas, but a victory at Notre Dame this season was one of the nation's best, and they tip-toed around several SEC opponents down the stretch to finish off one of the best regular seasons in program history.

Committee won't help the Aggies. Lowest ranked 1 loss team. If they were 10-2, they'd be out. I think the committee will try to give the Aggies the toughest matchup possible. Sips would play JMU if there were in.

Got screwed last week, that won't be undone. Ole Miss lost their coach entirely and should have been ranked below A&M. Their resume isn't better. Now you are looking at having to beat Alabama, Ohio State, and Georgia all in a row just to get to the finale. That is a worst case draw, and pretty much will be DOA unfortunately.

Other than tu, does EVERY fanbase think ESPN and the committee hate them? Such a tired take.

Whatever. It doesn't matter . We got in , now just win.

If the program wants respect which they clearly do then go out and earn it

I doubt Ohio state thinks ESPN or the committee hates them.

If we were named Alabama or tu, we would. Sorry though, we're Texas Aggies.
