From fanduel:

Miami +160
Alabama -310
Notre Dame -1500

So if you believe the oddsmakers, Notre Dame is for sure in. Alabama most likely in over Miami.

Canes or Tide at Kyle.

I'm betting on "All Hell Breaks Out" do to whomever is screwed over.

Which screw job will make the most noise? Bama and ND are the blueist of bluebloods, but Miami will be backed by an entire conference.

ADDED: It's should be Ole Miss. </winky face> Thanks Lane.

Then head to head doesn't matter to the committee after all. Miami and ND are pretty much equals. Head to head should matter.

The easy path is to leave Bama in and Miami out. Anything else will open the door for conference championship games affecting playoff participation. I don't think the powers to be want to deal with that perception.

First game of the season at Miami one score game. Same lame argument as tu

Committee survived screwing the ACC (Florida State) out of a highly deserved spot before so they have no reason to think they shouldn't do it again

Bama is 10 ND is 9 Miami is out. They have matchup problems with Tulane vs Ole Miss, ou vs Bama and Aggies vs ND in the first round and Bama v Georgia, Oregon v Indiana in the 2nd round. I think they fix these. You can do that by flipping ole Miss and Texas A&M, keeping Ohio State 2 and Georgia 3.

With those tweeks,
10 Bama at 7 Miss, winner at 2 Ohio State (Cotton)
11 Tulane at 6 TAMU, winner at 3 Georgia (Sugar]
9 ND at 8 OU winner plays 1 Indiana (Rose)
12 JMU at 5 Oregon winner plays Tech [Fiesta)

I will bet any amount of money you want, and give you 10,000 to one odds, that this does not happen.

You have to give the team that won the head to head when their records are equal. Especially since Notre Dame played a pretty easy schedule after that game, it's not like they went and knocked off a bunch of top teams.

Just like they do every year.

1. Schedule two challenging teams
2. Win or lose any combination (it doesn't matter)
3. Dominate the weak remaining schedule
4. College playoffs

Forcing ND to either play a conference schedule or be one of the top 4 ranked teams to qualify for the CFP would be the easiest fix ever for one of the playoffs most glaring weaknesses. I'm so tired of their undeserved legacy status. They should rename themselves the "Paper Tigers" or just go away.

I think Alabama is out. But if they are still in then they will not be sent to Kyle. The teams will be changed so Alabama plays a team from a different conference.

ACC is so bad the canes should be punished for not making their CCG.

The biggest problem with the system imo...

The committee can't/won't rethink and reshuffle teams based on the entire season. They just keep adjusting their order based on the current week versus the previous week. This makes is difficult to adjust any possible prior mistakes based on subsequent results.

So make Bama 9...and play at OU, how does that fix anything?

Also, van't wait for the epic rematch of the Septemeber 45-10 ole miss victory over Tulane, should be epic!

The Miami/ND argument is tough. No doubt, ND would be a favorite vs Miami at a neutral site, and has been steamrolling opponents. Of course, week 1 and 2 also occurred, and Miami has since lost two mediocre (but good for ACC) teams.

I don't know what's right, in this situation. I'm inclined towards Miami, but if we're talking including the truly BEST (sans the G5 participant) teams, ND is in and I don't think it's close.

Either way, I'll take whatever outcome has Bama or Miami playing at Kyle, b/c ND is a big "DO NOT WANT!" In truth, I think I prefer vs. Bama because their run game is rough, but that Texas game is still tough to reconcile. I'm more concerned about Miami's DL than any unit between Bama/Miami. That said, arguably the weakest link of either team is Carson Beck, who becomes a basket case if he gets hit a few times in the first half.

why can't they take the top 12 teams? the thought that they have to include some scrub so they feel
included is a joke.

this isn't college sports anymore it's semi pro at the very least so let's just go ahead and drop the facade.

take the top 12 regardless of conference and let's see who wins.

The major conferences want to make sure their winner gets in. If they do that, they have to let all conferences have a chance or get sued for antitrust.

Miami will be screwed over despite beating ND. If the committee can't force Texas in they are going to do everything in their power to keep the Irish in.

My prediction is that Bama is out. Bama won't be punished for losing to Georgia, but the game will remind the committee that Bama does not pass the eye test, and making a big comeback against a bad Auburn team isn't a sign of strength.

Notre Dame's resume is much better. Miami did beat ND at home but also lost two unranked teams. Notre Dame lost to two top 12 teams and has more top 25 wins.

That would be nice however ESiPN is controlling this whole thing and ND (along with tu) has has always been an ESiPN darling.

I just don't see Alabama not making it. No, I don't think they are a top 12 team, but the perception of dropping out after a conference participation is just too heavy a blow.

All hell would break loose in the SEC if that happens.

And I hope it does, it would force change. What we have now is crazy.

This is a big FU to notre dame for joining the acc in everything but football. Notre Dame should now join big 10 when possible and schedule no acc teams.
