How do you determine the top 12 teams? Thats the problem.

I agree the games with G5 teams are always going to suck and be blowouts. This isn't college basketball and there won't be any Cinderella teams from the G5 winning a title. But if you do away with the AQ then G5 teams will never make the playoffs so perhaps they should just break away and have their own tournament.

Get rid of neutral sites up to at least the quarterfinals and preferably the semis also.

To some extent, but the farther down the ranking, the less anyone cares. I would rather they play the games, and we find out who's better than a bunch of goofballs on football forums arguing over it.

Play the games and we'll find out. It's more fun to watch underdogs. And it's good to grow the sport spread out revenue and exposure.

You're debating with people that don't understand competition.

When the CFB season is over, they watch figure skating, gymnastics, synchronized swimming, diving, and cheerleading.

They are convinced opinions matter more than letting competitors prove it.

Yes. Reduce the # of teams getting in. 8 is the right number, imo, as it grabs the best 2 of every power 4 conference and the best of the remaining.

The Go5 needs to get their own league and start their own playoffs. Like a beefed up fcs system.

Why not a play-in game with the best of these second tier schools against the first one out to fill the 12th spot? Or in this year's example, have Tulane vs James Madison play next weekend for the last spot and not take up both 11 and 12. This would likely end up with notre dame #11 and Tulane #12 to fill in the last two spots. If Virginia had won last night then it would be different, but then Virginia and notre dame would play for the last spot in the play-in game, with Tulane already in. I could be messing up the order of the last few teams in who would play who, but a play-in game would minimize some of these crappy matchups in the first round, and could give the last couple of teams a chance to earn their spot without one being left out by default.

It's perfect the way it is. Notre Dame didn't get hosed, they lost two games.

I love that Cinderella gets a shot too. There are over 100 D1 teams. Each now has a path over the season to play for a title.

I would get rid of the bowls tho. Games on campus and the title every year in Vegas

The Final Four tournament has expanded multiple times and people still complain about not getting in. And it's not that the first teams out necessarily think they have a chance to win it all; they're just missing out on a payday.

I too want the games to decide the champion. Having stuff decided in a closed committee is contrary to that, regardless of the number of teams in the tournament. No computer algorithm or committee will end the complaining. Gotta have objective criteria defined before the season starts.

I think 12 teams is about right - if you get rid of the forced G5 team bid. Notre Dame probably should be in. Their odds for winning it all were better than ours

Yeah right. Notre Dame, KState and Iowa State just proved that's BS along with all opt-outs over the past several seasons.

No matter what there's always going to be a dispute unless it's 100% objective metric that ranks teams - and it'll never be.

With no Tulane and JMU, you've got a big dispute between BYU, Vandy, tu and then everyone will be pissed that tu got in
