This is why I've hated Notre Dame for years and years and years. I ****ing loathe them, even though I have no business loathing them. I've never set foot on campus. I hate Notre Dame for the exact same reasons I hate Tim Tebow. It's an underperforming football entity with an irritating tribal gloss of holiness, which gets far too much acclaim and adulation when it happens to succeed. The Fighting Irish belong with the Red Sox, the Yankees, Twilight, Taylor Swift, and any other property that is artificially relevant because the media wastes so much ****ing time telling you how relevant they are.

Alabama has two losses and a conference championship loss. Notre Dame has a carefully crafted schedule that gives the appearance of improvement by playing garbage teams that have an average win total of 4 games for the last 10 games of the season. By your own measurements, they got hosed, because Alabama has 3 losses and 2 of their losses are much worse than ND's.
It's bama that should've been left out under the current rules.
But the truth is, Tulane and JMU are the ones that really should have been left out if this was a real playoff.
This is not a serious playoff.

NFL equivalent playoff in college is 60 playoff teams.
NBA equivalent is 90.
More teams the more rounds required and football is not a sport conducive to playing a ton more games than they already do.
100% of the teams with a realistic shot at winning the championship are in.
