Any SEC team in the playoff would cruise through the 1/4 side. The only exception is Ole Miss, depending on how they look without Lane.

Tech, Oregon, and IU wouldn't be in the picture at all with an SEC schedule. Sure IU was able to get up for 2 games against teams with a pulse (Ducks and Bucks), but they aren't for real. The OU/Bama game is basically the semifinal.

I like A&M over Miami, but surviving Ohio State and Georgia just to get to OU or Bama is a brutal path.

LOL

Indiana just beat Ohio State. Keep up with current events might be an option for you.

OU's putrid offense is going to catch up to them in the playoffs.

I saw the game last night, I don't believe Indiana is great. I believe they got up for two big games, but emotions won't beat skill size and talent in the playoffs. We can revisit this in a few weeks.

We had one game against a team that almost made the playoffs and won it at the end. They had two games, one on the road and one in a neutral field and won both of them with relative ease. Sorry, but they have proved themselves as much as any team in the country. Most people like OP give them no respect because they have no history of success in football in their lifetime.

It's hard to take any team seriously that doesn't play an SEC schedule.

The Big10 blew chucks this year. But, yes, IU is a good football team. Great? I don't know. And I don't know how great OSU is either. Very good? Absolutely

Today's winner for the General Board Burrito Lottery is:

Lucky for them they play a putrid Bama offense to kick it off.

They beat the rest of the teams in blowouts, minus Penn St.

So a 5 pt win and a 10 pt win are now considered blowouts?

Georgia looks like the best team today.

The next team is a toss up. Let's see what Elko and the boys got to say about it.

I was incredibly wrong - no more hot takes from me for a while.

Baffled the SEC hasn't shown up this year in the post-season - is the reign of dominance over?

Seeing as how the big 10 won the last two, you might be onto something

They've certainly got 3 good teams in the Big10, even if Ohio St is overrated.

The top of the top in SEC is clearly lacking compared to 5 years ago. I still give the edge in cumulative overall quality to the SEC 1-16, but that doesnt count for much when a conference is measured on post season success. 5 teams in is a recognition of the overall SOS (probably should have been 4, bama or OU probably should not have been in over ND). But the league got bodied and 4/5 are knocked out before the final 4

You have the wrong team out in the ND scenario. Tech is the team that was exposed in this playoff more than anyone else. The Big 12 needs to be looked at in the same light as the Group of 5. There is a Power 3, no longer a Power 4 of conferences.

Disagree slightly on this. 3-loss Bama had no business being in the CFP, followed closely behind by the technicals, but the tards at least won their conference before getting smoked by Oregon.

Alabama stayed in the playoffs because their 3rd loss was in the SEC Championship Game. They finished with a 7-1 SEC record, which was tied with Georgia, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M for first place, and their only other regular season loss was to 5-7 Florida State. It's crazy how Alabama did not drop even one spot after getting crushed by Georgia in the SEC Championship Game. I think Alabama should have been dropped to No. 10, and we would have played them at Kyle Field. Of course, Alabama stunned Oklahoma and became the first team to win a road playoff game in the 12-team CFP era, and there's no guarantee we would have beaten Alabama at Kyle Field.

This. This is the point.

The quicker this becomes reality, the better. It's P3….

I know the Committee was dying to try and keep the concept of p4, but it's just not the case.

it's a good question. On one hand, the bowl records are what they are.

On the other, a week in week out SEC schedule is more brutal than any other conference. There is an element of just beating the sheet out of each other physically, but perhaps even more so emotionally. There are only so many times you can stay running "peak."

At some point, a governing body or bureaucracy should have stepped on the conference decimation (not "realignment). sips and 0U should have stayed BDF and Pac10 should have stayed intact.

Eventually all but the most stupid and obstinate will admit the Big 10 AND the Big 12 have some good teams and could very well compete in the SEC.

The SEC balloon is going to finally deflate some the way the ACC basketball balloon did- took many years after the ACC decline for people to admit it.
