....the thought process of the committee and these seedings.

Hear me out, Tech has played no one and they're FPI, SOS and SOR is well behind ours. Tech lost to an unranked ASU team, while we, the #3 team in the country, lost in a road rivalry game, by 10 to the #13 team in the CFP and they drop us 4 spots. tOSU loses and drops 1 spot, while Bama gets demolished and doesn't move at all. Ole Miss loses their head coach with ZERO consequences. Oregon, what's the thought process here?

To me, it looks like they seeded this thing to, for sure, eliminate two SEC teams in our bracket and, for sure, eliminate one in the other. I get with 5 teams in you can't avoid some overlap, but it all looks shady as hell.

Flame away.

The committee changes every year

This years committee has clearly shown:

Quality of wins or losses and SOS absolutely don't matter to them at all

Running up the score on little sisters of the poor is better than beating a quality opponents close

Losing to a crap team early in the season is better than losing to a quality team late

Protect the B1G at all costs because it's Northern and West Coast footprint is too valuable to not do so

It's designed to eliminate all but 1 team.

Too many people seem to expect an all-SEC playoff and all SEC championship.

Not at all. The way they seeded this playoff leaves one to "believe" there is something other the criteria driving their decision making process.

They punish BYU for losing a conf champ game.
They don't punish Bama for losing a conf champ game.

BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

* I loathe BYU and don't care for Bama, so no favorites bias here

This statement applies to A&M vs Tech, A&M vs Oregon and A&M vs Ole Miss. As for Tech and Oregon, the bias that is being used is the bias of inflating teams that nobody watches(neither are in the top 20 in tv ratings whereas A&M is top 10). The goal is to achieve variety across the country and across conferences to strengthen college football viewership. It's working too. Viewership is way up. As for Ole Miss, they got flamed for leaving Florida St out for a QB injury so they chose to reverse discriminate and provide sympathy for a team that lost its coach and right that wrong..

Conference champ
Been beating teams soundly
Not the most confusing choice by the committee

I have no problem with Texas Tech being in the playoffs, but it's ridiculous that they get a bye and we don't. We're both 111 but they lost Arizona State and we lost a number 13. Also, we're always hearing about how much superior the SEC is to the other conferences but here we go. Rules change with A&M.

But what really also irritates me is you know if Texas, LSU, Bama, Georgia and possibly Ole Miss were in the same position as we are meeting same exact schedule same exact place same exact outcome that they would've been given bye

It is not about numbers or analytics. I am pretty sure most of the committee members do not know how to read a spreadsheet or even use a computer. Instead is about opinions, preferences and politics. College football needs a commissionerner.

Prove the committee wrong by marching through the playoff.

Until then, whining does no good.

The way I understand it is we need to win 4 games in a row. Not sure where there is confusion.

They are following a computer model and collecting a paycheck and don't give any F's beyond that.

The final 12....

Two teams beat 2 of the final top 12 (IU and Georgia)...
Three team beat 1 of the final top 12 (Bama, Ole Miss, OU)...
The other 7 teams beat 0 of the final top 12...

Splitting hairs over who plays the toughest schedule is pissing in the wind...just ask the committee
