I like how they tried to get the 1940's vibe with the clothes and hats, very nice indeed.

Especially like the Heather Dinich slam to the teasips, that was funny.

They hung out at the Chicken when they were here a few years back.

The original BAS girl is an Aggie. They brought her out during their Live Shows a couple of years ago and explained that she helped them understand a lot about A&M.

She probably hosted them at the Chicken.

Who was the original BAS?

The one from last year or the gal (i think) 2 years ago that I think we first saw in the courtroom setting? If I recall she looked like she was wearing an Aggie Ring.

I don't recall the backstory on this. ???

Weiss left on the plane with Kiffin to Baton Rouge. He quit. Then Kiffin graciously "allowed" (Kiffin's words) Weiss to return to Ole Miss to coach them during a playoff run.

Was this somewhat similar to Schloss dragging the baseball staff to Austin and some of those guys, especially Mike Earley, looking they they were being held hostage at the announcement presser? Then Earley essentially bolted for the car to get back to CS?

I have no idea what Tijuana fries are, but it's sad that visitors come to CS and eat food at The Chicken.

Sort of. Kiffin in his own brand of madness truly believed Ole Miss (who has never said NO to him before for anything) would be happy to have him coach during their playoff run, despite Ole Miss telling him for weeks they would not allow that. So Kiffin tried to leverage Ole Miss by casually "suggesting" if Ole Miss would even remain in the playoff without an offensive staff?

That morphed into an either or issue for the assistant coaches. Stay or go with Kiffin when he left? Weiss "chose" to leave with Kiffin. Kiffin and LSU get tremendous backlash for deliberately torpedoing Ole Miss to get them pushed out of the playoffs. From LSU's perspective allowing Lane's OC to not be present while getting settled in at LSU if Lane is there to put in the necessary work. So Kiffin "allowed" (read "sent") Weiss back for the playoffs.

That's like saying, "it's sad that visitors come to Stillwater and eat food at Eskimo Joe's". And TJ fries are yummy!

Yeah, but I'd go to Chicken Oil or Hopping Cow (or whatever the name of that place was in the old Albertson's center)

Yeah, 3rd gen. My daughter is 4th. Neither one of us has ever witnessed a loss at Kyle Field as a student (30-0-1). Don't plan on starting on 12/20.

Best Sunday morning (well noon) hangover cure. Double meat, double cheese Deathburger (lots of jalapenos) and 24 oz Fosters.

I eat at Chicken Oil more often but it wasn't a choice when it was closed for a couple years after the fire. And The Cow Hop? Gone for quite some time.

Hasn't the Cow Hop been closed for like 25-30 years at this point

I don't think so, Tim. Cow Hop for sure was open circa 98-2000ish.

  • 1978 - 1993: Cow Hop operated.
  • 1995: Rebranded as King of The Roadhouse.
  • 1996 - 2001: Reopened as Cow Hop until its final closing
Loved a cow pie and fries, especially the price.

What was the name of that little deli sandwich shop next to Loupots in the late 70s? Had great Reuben sandwiches.

The root beer floats were good to wash it down. The only cheaper burgers were Archie's (I think that was the name) on Harvey but those sucked even for $0.29/burger.

Best one in quite some time.

Even got the Vandy guy to steal the 5-star QB recruit from Georgia's luggage.

And I loved it when sip ran into Georgia on the train - who was happy to "manhandle" them again and throw t.u. off the playoff train one more time.
