Every other team they have is already in the ACC. I've never understood why football gets to be special.
I avoid temptation unless I can’t resist it.

What is ND going to do with third-tier sports like lacrosse, men's soccer, water polo, gymnastics etc if they aren't in the ACC?

Good point. Does the B1G have those sports? Because the SEC does not have all of them, I think..

Big 12 commissioner Brett Yormark blasted Notre Dame’s AD and did not hold back on the Irish going after the ACC either. https://t.co/aBD8dtON1f

Welp, Big 12 was a long shot anyway. But ND will probably go nuclear about these comments too.

I'm starting to wonder if the committee knew what it was doing when the kept 3-loss Bama and swapped Miami with ND...this could be a collective FU and warning shot at ND to put them in their place.
Or maybe I'm just an eternal optimist.

in the current format the big 12 isn't the reject league. they will get 1 to 2 teams a year and the seeding of tech shows the committee is not goijg to give the sec any benefit of the doubt. notre dame would be smart to go to the big 12. they and tech would totally run it and geographically it will be a decent fit as well.

Yormack has done a great job as big 12 commissioner. Big 12 looked headed for irrelevance 3 years ago and is now arguably the 3rd most powerful conference.

If that was the case, there wouldn't be the written guarantee that starting next year ND has a guaranteed spot as long as they are ranked 12th or higher. That bit of news this past week was the gut punch to those of us who wish the CFP would put ND in their place.
They put them in a place alright. Just not the one we think they deserve.

ND has already negotiated that they are auto in if in the top 12. They literally can schedule as minimally as possible and go 11-1 and will almost guarantee to be top 12 on name alone. Why would they give that up?

SEC is out. big 10 can't get NBC to budge currenlty. big 12 has most convenient TV deal to work with.

This B1G could have already taken Cal and Stanford, and left them out. They are deadweight. Maybe Kansas?
ND to the Big12 actually is not as crazy as it seems; probably a much better fit than the ACC these days for numerous reasons.
